^ Mizzou continues its 2017 non-conference schedule this weekend (Sept. 1-2) in Boise, Idaho, for the Boise State Invitational. The Tigers will be joined by Sacramento State, No. 10 BYU and host Boise State. ^ Similar to its season-opening trip at the Culver’s Governors Challenge (Aug. 25-26), Mizzou will face another strong field of competition this coming weekend inside Bronco Gym. Leading the way is BYU, who advanced to the Sweet 16 in last year’s NCAA Tournament. The Cougars finished 29-4 overall last season, en route to a West Coast Conference championship. Boise State recorded an impressive 26-7 overall record in 2016, also claiming top honors in its respective conference (Mountain West). The Broncos advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, losing to eventual 2016 National Champions, Stanford. Sacramento State also finished in first place within its conference (Big Sky), tallying a 20-12 overall record a season ago. ^ The Tigers produced a .500 (2-2) record last weekend in Clarksville, Tenn., earning victories over Marshall and Middle Tennessee, while falling in five-set heartbreakers to Northern Iowa and host Austin Peay. ^ Despite the disappointing tournament finale last Saturday, Mizzou accumulated impressive individual and team statistics over its two-day stretch at the Culver’s Governors Challenge. Collectively, the Tigers’ 219 assists, 231 kills, 41.5 total blocks and 24 service aces all rank first in the Southeastern Conference. Nationally, those team numbers rank second, fifth, seventh and 17th, respectively. ^ Individually, freshman Leketor Member-Meneh stole the show for Mizzou, producing 70 kills (3.89 per set) on .305 hitting with 38 digs, seven total blocks and 75.5 points. The St. Louis, Mo., native tallied 22 kills in her Tigers debut (vs. Marshall) and matched her lofty career-high again three matches later (at Austin Peay). ^ Within the SEC, Member-Meneh ranks first in points and total kills. Nationally, her 70 kills ranks second, while her 75.5 points places fifth. ^ Three more Tigers, redshirt senior Kira Larson, senior Courtney Eckenrode and junior Alyssa Munlyn, also rank atop SEC statistical rankings. Larson was lights out with her serving game, as her nine aces ranks first in the conference. Finally, Eckenrode’s 158 total assists and Munlyn’s 19 total blocks are the current standard in their respective SEC rankings. ^ Munlyn and fellow middle blocker, redshirt freshman Kayla Caffey, were outstanding over Mizzou’s season-opening tournament. The Tigers duo each recorded 30-plus kills on .400-plus hitting, while Munlyn finished with 19 total blocks (four solo/1.06 per set) and Caffey tallied 13 total blocks (team-leading five solo/0.72 per set).
