The aim of the game

The aim of the game is to pass the ball over the net and touch the opponent's court or the opponent is forced to throw it off the field. To achieve this, each group has the right to do three shots with any part of the body. The foot is not allowed. The same player has no right to do two consecutive shots. Also, after each hit the ball must bounce, and cannot be kept by the player.

The ball of volley

The ball is made of soft plastic or leather. After 1996 the colorful ball for the sake of viewership consists of 12 pieces evenly combined three colors (yellow, white, blue). Its periphery 65-67 cm and weight 260-280 gr. However in 2009 changed. Blue and yellow (white headed) remain and their distribution changed. The ball now has much more resources making it much softer than the previous one.

The pitch

The pitch of volleyball shaped rectangle with dimensions: 9x18 meters must be surrounded by a free zone, which in big events is 7 to 9 feet from the end lines and 3 to 5 m from the side. Usually the volleyball field is indoors but can also be performed in the open, especially in low-level events

The net

The net is located above the main line, has a length of 9.5 m, a width of 1m. and height 2.43 for men and 2.24 for women. At the ends and at 9m. are spaced antennas, length 1,80 m (projecting 0.80 m above the net) and define the limits of the pitch in the air. Players are not permitted to touch the net during the racing phase. The amount of the net differ depending on the category.

The teamsEach volleyball team consists of six players . It can be up to six alternates , a coach 's assistant and physiotherapist . At the start of each servis six contestants players must be in the field and in specific locations . There are three in the offensive zone and three in the defensive zone ,excluding the player who performs the servis. The players who are in the defensive zone are not allowed to express aggressive blow pressing the front area from a height greater than net. Every time their team wins the servis , players move one position to the right , in the direction of clockwise.So gradually all players play in all positions. In case of a change the player must go to the position of the player that came out of the game.

Prohibited actions

According to the regulation a point against a team is also charged when a player is guilty of the following offenses :• Transfer the ball.• Touching the net.• Passage of the hands over the net to the opponent's part to

prevent the opponent's attack.• Passage of the opponent's body part , thus prevent the

opponent. No prohibited instant pass or touch the box in the event of attack , if not blocked by an opponent .

• Two consecutive hits. • Pass the ball to the opposing field by or under the net .
