benefit from the latest digital developments even after they have

been purchasesd. Functions and optimizations can be installed

"Over-the-Air" without having to visit the workshop. You can find

Welcome the future in your ID. Over-the-Air Updates are downloaded in the background via the

vehicle's mobile phone access while driving. As soon as an update

is available, a notification will be available in the Infotainment-

System and your ID. will guide you through the installation steps.

While your vehicle is parked, the complete installation takes place

and the next time you start you can enjoy the new and improved

functions. Please note the further information in the digital

vehicle manual.



What is included in the update?We listened to you. With the help of a lot of feedback from our customers, we put together a

comprehensive software update for you, which can now for the first time for a vehicle of the

Volkswagen ID. family also be installed Over-the-Air, i.e. without having the visit the workshop.

Note:

— The prerequisites for Over-the-Air updates are the installation of the ID.Software2.1 on your

vehicle and an existing We Connect Start contract*.

— The functionality after the update depends on the market, model year and optional equipment

and can vary.

— The installation of ID.Software2.3 is a prerequisite for receiving further updates.

— Some software updates are not available as Over-the-Air Updates and need to be carried out

at a workshop.

*If you have not yet received the ID.Software2.1 update, please contact your Volkswagen Partner.

You also need an active We Connect Start contract, which you can use free of charge for the first

three years of the vehicle and which brings numerous advantages to everday life, for example pre-

air conditioning of the vehicle or the display of the charge status.

Infotainment

Improved usability of the infotainment systemWith the ID.Software2.3 your infotainment system appears in a new look.

Customizations such as redesigned digital buttons, customized fonts and

an optimized arrangement of function menus, significantly improve the

readability and usability of the infotainment system. The home button

now adapts to the situation of the shown context and can be changed

individually in its appearance by you. In addition to the Volkswagen logo,

numerous national flags are also available for this purpose.

Light

Customized functionality of the ID.LightThe ID. Light, which is installed as standard in all Volkswagen ID. models, receives

some functional enhancements. In addition to the already known functions, it

now also supports you visually in other situations when using the driver assistance

systems. In addition, the ID. Light helps you drive more efficiently by telling you

through light signals when it is advisable to take your foot off the power pedal.



Ambient detection

Optimized ambient detection & advanced main-beam control Dynamic Light Assist Vehicles equipped with the advanced main-beam control

Dynamic Light Assist now recognize other road users even better.

Your Volkswagen ID. thus perceives motorbikes ahead, vehicles

with solid rear lights and reflectors even faster and more reliably.

Your travel comfort increases since the assistance systems now

react even more precisely.

Your driver assistance systems will also be available in the future

while downloading an update.

Download We Connect ID. app for your smartphone free

of charge. Depending on your operating system, you will

find the We Connect ID. app for Android or for iOS in the

Google Play Store or the App Store.

Note: If you have already installed the We Connect ID. app and you have a valid We Connect Start contract,

you can skip this page and start with step 4.

Log in to the app with your Volkswagen ID and add your

vehicle.

Activate your We Connect Start contract. To do this,

follow the instructions displayed in the App.

During the installation of the Over-the-Air update, your ID. cannot be charged. Therefore, please ensure a minimum charge status of 50%- and then

remove the charging plug. Now start the update installation. This can take some time depending on the size of the update. Your ID. shows you in

the informationment system, before starting the installation, whether further conditions have to be fulfilled (e.g. close window). The update begins

after leaving and locking the vehicle.

During the installation of the updates, you will not be able to use or charge your ID.

At the end of the installation your ID. establishes an internet connection.

Safety notes for the updateIn the course of updating the front camera for driver assist

systems, the camera-based driver assistance systems (e.g. Lane

Assist, Travel Assist,...) are not available for safety reasons from

the start of the download to the completion of the installation.

Your ID. indicates this by warnings and symbols in the ID. display.

Technically, the condition is comparable to "snow on the camera",

which you may have already experienced last winter. The driving

safety of your ID. is therefore maintained. After successful

installation of the software update, the range of functions of the

driver assistance systems will be available again and optimized.

What are "Over-the-Air Updates"?

Over-the-air updates are software updates that are downloaded

via your vehicle's mobile access. This means that your Volkswagen

will remain up to date with the latest digital development and

you will benefit from new features and improved functions.

How do I know which software version is currently installed on

my ID.?

Open the menu item "Setup" in the main menu of the

infotainment system in your ID. Then navigate to "System

Information". If the software is "0792" or higher, you have

already installed the ID.Software2.1 and your vehicle is capable

for updating over-the-air. Otherwise, please contect your

Volkswagen Partner.

What functions will be available through ID.Software2.3?

The ID.Software2.3 update includes functional enhancements

of the ID. Light, optimizations of the ambient detection and

improvement of the advanced main-beam control Dynamic Light

Assist, customized usability of the infotainment system as well as

further improvements in performance and stability.

How long does the over-the-air update take?

The over-the-air update is downloaded in the background while driving. The

expected installation time depends on the scope of the software update and is

displayed in the infotainment system before starting the installation.

Can I perform the over-the-air update myself?

Your ID. informs you in the infotainment system as soon as an update is available

for installation and guides you through the installation process.

Can I drive my ID. while the over-the-air update is being installed?

During installation, the vehicle is not available. You can easily determine the time

of installation yourself via the infotainment system.

Is the Over-the-Air Update free of charge for me?

The ID.Software2.3 Over-the-Air Update is free of charge for you.

Do I get proof of the over-the-air update?

The ID.Software version installed on your ID. is recorded on the system side.

Does manufacturer‘s warranty expire, if I do not install the Over-the-Air Update?

No, manufacturer‘s warranty will not expire.



Why haven't I received the update yet, even though others have

already been able to install it?

The rollout of the over-the-air update will take place successively

across all qualified vehicles. Your ID. informs you as soon as the

update is ready for installation.

Can I skip an over-the-air update and install the next available

one?

The over-the-air updates build on each other. To always benefit

from the latest features and improvements, please perform all

updates.

How do I know that an over-the-air update is available?

Your ID. informs you in the main screen of the infotainment

system by means of a pop-up notification as soon as the update

is ready for installation.

What happens if I use my ID. during the installation of the over-

the-air update (e.g. unlocking or charging)?

Your ID. can be locked and unlocked during installation of the

update. However, the installation of the update may be aborted

under certain circumstances. Driving and charging is not possible

during installation of the update.

Can I install the over-the-air updates during a charging process?

No, the vehicle cannot be charged during installation. Please stop charging and

then start the installation of the update. In order to successfully complete the

over-the-air update, please ensure a minimum charging status of 50 % for your ID

vehicle.

Can I restart the installation after a failed over-the-air update?

If the installation can be repeated, your ID. will inform you by means of a

notification in the infotainment system. Otherwise, please contact your

Volkswagen partner or the service hotline.



Why did I receive an over-the-air update but see no changes?

Not every over-the-air update brings visible changes.

Sometimes an over-the-air update refers to feature updates

and quality improvements in the background. New features and

optimizations within the update will be shown in the ID. display.

What do I need to receive an over-the-air update?

Over-the-air updates will be available to every ID. driver in the

future. All you need is an active We Connect Start contract and

the ID.Software2.1, which you receive from your Volkswagen

partner. To find out which version is currently installed on

your ID. open the menu item "Setup" in the main menu of the

infotainment system. Then navigate to "System Information".

If the software is "0792" or higher, you have already installed

the ID.Software2.1 and your vehicle is capable for over-the-air

updating.

What charge level does the high-voltage battery of my ID. need

at least to be able to install the over-the-air update?

The high-voltage battery of your ID. must be at least 50%

charged at the start of the installation.

I clicked away the notification in the infotainment system. How

do I still get to the installation?

The notification in the infotainment system is merely an

indication about the availability of an over-the-air update. The

installation can be started via the "Goodbye Screen" after parking

the vehicle.

Is the connection status of my ID. relevant for receiving the over-the-air update?

To download the update, an Internet connection is required. The download can

only be performed if your ID is in "online mode". An existing Internet connection is

displayed in the main screen of the infotainment system with this symbol:

More information about the connection status of your ID. can be found in the

operating instructions under Data transmission → Privacy.

Can I keep my Volkswagen Data Plug or other OBD reading modules connected to

the vehicle during the update?

Please remove any reading modules from the OBD interface before starting the

installation of the update.

Can the update also be installed without an Internet connection, for instance, if I

park my ID. in an underground car park?

No, an Internet connection is required during installation.

Can I cancel the installation of an over-the-air update after it has already

started?

During the first two minutes after start, the installation can still be aborted.

Is my ID. reset to factory settings after the update?

No, the personal settings are retained.
