What is St.Olav`s Way?

SKALSTUGAN – STIKLESTAD – TRONDHEIM

● The stretch from Selånger in Sweden to Stiklestad in Norway became Olav Haraldson's last journey before the historic battle at Stiklestad in 1030

● Today's path follows largely the route believed to have been Olav's route as he returned from his forced exile in Gardarike, the area close to today's Novgorod and Kiev. The path offers varied scenery and cultural experiences, from the mountain pass at the Swedish border to the farm villages in Trøndelag close to Stiklestad.

Leangen farm

● Leangen farm represents a late manifestation of manor house development in Trondheim.

● In the north there are some farm buildings and outside the yard there's a gazebo and a storehouse. The Empire style building has taken its inspiration from the continent's stone architecture, and was transformed into the local wood building traditions. A special feature at Leangen farm is the hand-printed French wallpaper from 1818 in the dance hall.
