U.S. Cellular to expand LTE network cover 98% of its custom-
ers by end of 2015
I myself am not a subscriber to any of the LTE providers (too damn expensive).
But as this particular company is somewhat local to this area I thought that this
bit of news merited it’s own topic, especially as I notice more than a few mem-
bers at the weekly meetings “playing” with their phones, prior to the meeting
getting started (of course). So in case you were not already aware of this partic-
ular upgrade in service for our local market, here you go.
In addition to the above bit of news, there is now this revelation, which may not
be of any real surprise to many of you:
Pew: 64% of American adults have a smartphone, and 10% rely
on it for their broadband connection Considering the lack of any real internet service (my opinion) in our local area
once you get more than about 5 miles or so outside of GP, smart phones and/or
hubs may now provide a third choice for internet service in the home.

My Windows 10 experiences/observations
Al Guenther ~ Editor
So, in a strictly FYI posting for anybody interested, I have “sacrificed” one of
my 3 laptops that was running Win 7 Ultimate and UPGRADED the OS to Win
10. As we approach the much ballyhooed release date later this summer, I will
share some of my experiences with the product. Now, Windows 10 is also slated
for release on Windows phones and tablets but not RT as yet.
My laptop does not have touch screen functionality so no help there.
Now, if any of the more intrepid of our members out there in Rascals land have
also taken the plunge on any of the currently supported devices and would care to
share your opinions with me for inclusion in future news letters please feel free
to email me at mailto:[email protected]
