SOCCER

East Hill soccer is riding a 6 match win-ning streak! With wins against Milton, Pace, Walton, South Walton High, Free-port, and Rocky Bayou, the Eagles are making quite a splash in the community. With several matches through January, the Varsity soccer program hopes to wrap up their season in great form. Check the Google Calendar for match times and locations. Make a trip and give your support to these young men as they compete for excellence.

BASKETBALL

The Middle School and Junior Basketball teams will be wrapping up their season in an All-Day tournament on January 18. A champion will be crowned and a season concluded. All games are at East Hill's gymnasium.

The Boys and Girls varsity teams are having success on the court as well. The Lady Eagles are tied for first place in the East division of the Panhandle Christian Conference. The Boys are rid-ing high after a 10 pt win versus cross town rival Pensacola Christian Acade-my (3A). Both teams will have key divi-sion matches versus West Florida Bap-tist on Jan 13 (home) and Jan 30 (away). Check the calendar for game times and locations. Come see what the excitement is about and let the Cheer squads pump you up!!

CHEER

Congratulations to the Competition Cheer Squad as they claimed First Place at the FCC National Tournament. They had worked through several different routines because of key injuries, but they showed up at the beginning of January in Orlando to claim the title! The EHCS Competition Cheer Program was also recognized for 26 consecutive years at-tending the FCC National Tournament. Great Job Girls! (see pic on p. 4)

Athletics SLI heading to Orlando EHCS is excited to be sending 25

students to Student Leadership Uni-

versity (SLU) 101 in Orlando January

18-20. SLU 101 is the nation's premi-

ere student leadership experience

with a distinctive Christian worldview.

The aim of the program is to equip,

motivate, enable and empower stu-

dents for present and future leader-

ship in their schools, churches,

teams, families and workplaces. Stu-

dents will be exposed to comprehen-

sive programs focusing on leadership

skills. These skills include time and

life management, goal setting, deal-

ing with conflict and difficult people,

and developing a Christian

worldview. With this training, students

are given a 15 to 20-year quantum

leap in their ability to think, dream,

and lead through the lens that leader-

ship begins at the feet of Jesus.

Many thanks to Mrs. Smith for invest-

ing in our students, and sponsoring

this event!

On Saturday, February 8, we will

have a Valentine Cotillion for stu-

dents in grades 06-08. This tradition-

al Valentine’s Party is one of the

highlights of the middle school year.

Our party will be held in the EHCS

gym beginning at 6:00 pm and end-

ing at 8:00 pm that evening. The cost

of this event is $15.00. Stay tuned

for an email with additional infor-

mation and online payment instruc-

tions.

Thank you to the parents who have

signed up online to help serve in

some way for this incredible event!

For questions, feel free to email Mrs.

Smith at [email protected].

A piece of ehcs history for a great cause We recently installed brand new bleachers in our gymnasium and held on to several boards from our vintage bleachers. Would you like to own a preserved piece of history from EHCS?

We are raising money for our Student Lead-ership Clubs. All the proceeds on the sale of bleacher boards will go directly to sponsor students attending the conference in Wash-ington, D.C. this summer.

Click on this Bleacher Boards link from the Parent’s page on the school website (https://payit.nelnet.net/form/I8NF41JN ) to see the online payment information and pricing options for different board lengths!

Feel free to pass the word to alumni and oth-ers associated with East Hill about this great opportunity! A big thank you to those who have already been purchasing the boards!
