OUTSTANDING ACADEMIC AWARD: KK 4 S’s and 2 N’s in core academic areas (no

U’s) All S’s in specials

Grade 1 4 S’s and 2 N’s in core academic areas

(no U’s) AND at least an 80% average in math,

reading & language arts All S’s in specials (conduct

grades are exempt for this award)

Grades 2 – 5 At least 4 core academic classes

with a 90%-100% average AND can have no more

than 2 core academic classes with an 80%-89%

average.

All A’s and 1 B in specials (art, music, P.E., chorus)

HONOR ROLL: Grades 2 – 5 All core academic classes with an

80% - 100% average (at least one of these core

2012-2013 Stonewall Tell Career Days were a success. Thank you to all the parents and

community members that gave your time and expertise to educate the students about

numerous careers.

Strategic Plan 2017

This is the school system’s roadmap for how Fulton County

Schools aims to improve student achievement over the next

five years. Three goals serve as the district’s measure for

long-term student success, which is that students will graduate

on time and be ready for college or the workforce.

• Graduation Rate – 90% of Fulton students will

graduate on time

• College Readiness – 85% of Fulton’s seniors will be

eligible for admission to a University System of Georgia

college or university

• Career Readiness – 100% of Fulton's graduates will

be work-ready certified

“These are big goals, but they are attainable,” said

Superintendent Avossa. “Our strategic plan is focused on

improving outcomes for all students, and the only way to do

this is to set measurable goals and put supports in place to help

our students and staff to reach them.”

To that end, as part of its “Building Our Future” strategic

planning initiative, the school system will focus on five key

areas – instruction, people, technology, effective schools and

resources – to drive improvement.

• Instruction – Students will be engaged in learning

that enables them to reach their full potential for college and

career readiness

• People – Fulton County Schools will attract and

retain the most talented and effective employees in K-12

education

• Technology – Students, parents, teachers and

administrators will have the tools and information they need to

accelerate learning

• Effective Schools – School leadership will be

collaborative and will balance innovation with accountability

• Resources – Student needs will be supported with efficient

and effective allocation of staff, instructional materials and equipment.

The strategic plan will guide the system’s direction over the

next five years and is the result of many conversations with the

school board, teachers and school leaders as well as

engagement with parents and the community.

5th are finishing their 3 dimensional “Pop Art” Cakes while learning about the important art movement of the 1950’s,60’s,

& 70’s.

4th are creating Japanese Sumi-e ink paintings. An exquisitely gifted 4th grader in Ms. Hinchen’s class has created several

Sumi –e’s that are truly amazing! Congratulations to Corey Dixon !

Corey even had the initiative to translate his name on Google Translate and signed his work in Japanese!

3rd are creating an Amazon Rainforest where we will research and investigate the rainforest and incorporate digital

photography after taking a virtual fieldtrip to Brazil.

1st graders are designing a Math/Robot unit using challenging Geometric shapes including polygons.

K are creating a Geometric shape robot integrating Math and geometric shapes including polygons.

2nd graders are painting a Coral Reef and Ocean Habitat that will incorporate Technology and Digital pictures. Why are

coral reefs important and what scientific jobs can you pursue if you want to study coral reefs? Check out

We will continue with our cooperative games unit

with lessons using the skills found in BASEBALL.

All students will practice their throwing, catching,

fielding, and batting skills; as well as, learn about

the game of baseball. Students will also

participate in mini games of baseball and kickball.

We will be going outside if the weather is nice –

please wear sneakers to P.E.

Students are marked TARDY when

they arrive after the morning bell.

There is no GRACE PERIOD.

Students dismissed before 11:10 a.m.

are marked ABSENT for the whole day.

Our Dismissal Process

The school schedule is

07:40am-2:20p.m.

Dismissal starts at 2:20p.m.

We have 11 buses to load with

4 buses being loaded at one time.

Car riders are dismissed around

2:45p.m.

ALWAYS sign in your presence in the

building at the front desk.

There is not a telephone in any

classroom.

Please provide your child with an extra

set of clothes in case of an accident.

• If you have an address

change to report, please do this

ASAP so that when the summer

mailings go out they will reach

you.

• Notices are being sent

home regarding any medicine that

is in the clinic for your child. Please

make contact with the clinic to

claim those medications.

• 5th Grade Parents – Your

student’s records are

automatically sent to the Middle

School that is designated by the

address we have on file. If your

child will not be attending his/her

home middle school, please notify

us so that the record remains with

us until the new school sends a

request for the record.

• Be proactive…check the

cafeteria for charges, the media

center for checked out or overdue

library books, and the teachers for

missing or damaged text books.

The final report card will be held

until these accounts are clear. For

those students who received free

or reduced meals, the charges

incurred prior to qualifying are due

in full.

• The report cards are being

issued the last day of school. If

your child will not be in attendance

on May 23rd

, please send a self -

addressed and stamped envelope

to the teacher so that he/she may

mail it to you. Otherwise, the

report cards will be available for

pick-up in the front office.
