What a whirlwind the past two weeks have been! I had the privilege of serving as the Camp Pastor for our First Kid's Camp at Trinity Pines again this year. The theme was #Believer. We had the opportunity to explain and discuss with children what it means to be a believer and encourage them to take the next steps in their faith. Please continue to pray for the children who made decisions for Christ during camp and the follow-up that will be taking place in the weeks to come. Last week our family was with the South Texas Mission Team serving in Lasara. It was the first time our whole family was able to go. I got to work alongside my sons and other men in our church. God continues to open doors for us in South Texas. Please pray that we will be able to host a community-wide worship service in Lasara. Also, pray that we will be able to field a team to partner with Calvary Fellowship in Bryan to serve the people of Sebastian, Texas. One other South Texas Mission Trip note…this year during our Harvest Banquet we will host a Missions Market featuring handmade sewing products made by the women in Lasara. The proceeds from the sales will go to support the ladies who made the products. Now that we are in the downhill slide of summer, it means that school is just around the corner. I know some of you are not ready to face that reality. This year A&M will see over 14,000 freshmen come to campus. Over the next several weeks many of them will be here for Fish Camp and Impact week. Please pray for our college ministry and all the opportunities we have to connect with these students. Also, pray for our student ministry as middle and high school students are starting back in late August. The beginning of the semester is a crucial time to connect with students and engage them with the gospel. Please join us in praying for these efforts. If you would like to be a part of the continuing work in the Balcones area this Fall, please let me know. We took the summer off for Kid's Club, and will be starting it back up soon. We will also host a block party for our neighbors close to the start of the school year. In the coming weeks, you will find different ways to connect with our community ministry teams to volunteer. I'm so thankful God planted our church in the neighborhood He did. Let us love our neighbors as ourselves. Please continue to pray for the children who made decisions for Christ during camp and the

follow-up that will be taking place in the weeks to come.

The proceeds from the sales will go to support the ladies who made the

products.

Now that we are in the downhill slide of summer, it means that school is just around the corner. I know some of you are not ready to face that reality. This year A&M will see over 14,000 freshmen come to campus. Over the next several weeks many of them will be here for Fish Camp and Impact week. these efforts.

FBC-U 2017 LOCAL MINISTRY PARTNERS

Fellowship Hall Sunday Nights @ 6:00pm

July 30 * Save Our Streets

COLLEGE STUDENT ADOPTION – This week we begin accepting sign-ups for our college student adoption ministry. We are searching for families who would like to invest intentionally in the lives of college students as they leave their homes and make their new homes here. This shouldn’t be a major burden (either financially or in time)

but a way for you to include a student in your family activities. If you would like to sign up, please visit www.FBCCollegeStation.com/adopt to see the family expectations and fill out the application. Being in college brings about lots of change on an individual, but as an adopted family you can provide a sense of familiarity and stability for these students as you open your home, share your experiences, and

share your life. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Jordan (email above).

Guess what? It is time to start signing up to sponsor our free college lunches. On the first Sunday of each month, we host a lunch in the Fellowship Hall for all College & GAP students. These lunches are provided by our adult Sunday Bible Study classes. The first lunch is on September 3rd. If your group would like to help out, please

contact Lisa in the church office (696-7000) to sign up.

The Great Flood of ‘17 * The Properties Committee is hoping to enlist the help of the architects who developed the church’s master building plan to help us determine the best course of action with replacing carpeting and other flooring that was damaged in the flood. They will help us choose the best materials, look at costs and look at designs to help us coordinate with the parts of the building that will not be renovated

at this time.

Financial * Contribution statements for the first half of 2017 have been mailed out to those who have given over $250 this year. If you did not receive one but feel you should have, please e-mail me. If you have any questions about your statement or notice any problems, please contact me as soon as possible. Giving to FBC is still ahead of any other year in the last five years ($775,839 through June 2017), but we are still behind in covering our budget requests by about $72,000. The good news is that our actual expenses are less than our actual receipts. Thank you to those who give a regular gift! If you would like to set up an online gift, go to the church’s website

and click on the ‘give’ tab.

Blessings,
