Vol. 25 No. 48– December 2, 2015
FROM TIM…
HOLIDAY SEASON OPPORTUNITIES – The last month of each year is always full of holiday activ-ities, both in our home families and with our church family. Let’s make this a season of growing in our faith! Here’s a few ways you can grow in your faith over the coming weeks:
Opportunities for Deeper Fellowship – Look inside this bulletin, and plan to be part of the holiday parties in December for your peer group. Just being around fellow believers in a ‘get-together’ setting helps us desire to walk closer with God. Be part of them!
Opportunities for Giving – A few opportunities to help others:
Operation Turkey – From the Operation Turkey board, take home a picture of a preacher and their family in Peru, Panama, or Costa Rica: hang their picture in your house, pray for them, and be ready to give an encouraging note and $50 that Great Oaks will send along to help them have a nice holiday meal with their family.
MidSouth Health and Rehab – Sign up in the library to buy a Christmas gift or two for a resident of Midsouth. Gifts will be due by December 14th.
Opportunities for Encouraging Others in Their Faith – This is a time of year when our cul-ture thinks about Christ and faith more than usual, which provides good open doors for faith encouragement. Is there a friend or family member you can invite to come to church with you? A visitor you can meet at our assemblies? Or someone you can send a card to let them know you are praying for them? Keep your eyes open for opportuni-ties to strengthen others - it’s a great time of year for it!
December is already here! Let’s make it a great month for our church family.
I look forward to seeing you Sunday morning, ready to worship and grow…
SPOTLIGHT: WINTER QUARTER BIBLE CLASSES BEGIN TONIGHT!
The new Sunday and Wednesday Bible classes for December, January, and February begin tonight,
Wednesday, December 2nd! We try to have a good lineup of Bible classes on both Sunday morn-
ings and Wednesday evenings to help deepen our fellowship and faith in a smaller-group setting.
If you haven’t been part of Bible classes, now is a great time to start – you will grow from it!
