Chamber Conference Room
Tanco Creations joined the Springtown Area Chamber of
Commerce in October 2009. Tanco is a family owned and operated jewelry store that has been serving the Spring-
town, Azle and surrounding areas and customers across
the United States for over two decades.
Our store carries a variety of jewelry styles from tradi-
tional to unique, in gold, platinum, sterling silver, titanium and steel. Also, we can make or special order non-stock
items.
All jewelry repair is done in house. With the laser welder,
many items can be expertly repaired that would not be
possible with the traditional methods. From a chain repair
to ring sizing to a custom designed piece of jewelry is
business as usual at Tanco Creations.
Tanco Creations is located at 401 N.W. Parkway (on the
service road of 199) in Azle.
We strive to give the very best service with the utmost in-
tegrity. We are blessed to have a great staff and a host of
wonderful customers.
Tanco Creations Jewelry hours of operation are Tues-
day—Friday from 10:00am—6:00pm and Saturdays from
10:00am—2:00pm.

Springtown Students are State Bound
Each year, Springtown students represent the District at the state level
in competition ranging from music to academic events to athletic
events. Our Springtown students compete well with other high school
students from across Texas.
Band UIL Solo & Ensemble – The Region 2 UIL Solo & Ensemble
contest was held at Northwest High School. Sixty-two students from
the Sound of Springtown competed in this competition and earned 77
medals. Out of those 77 medals, 54 advanced to State competition,
which will be held at The University of Texas on May 31.
Choir UIL Solo & Ensemble - Springtown ISD is making great
strides in its goal to have a first rate choral program. Choral directors
Kelly Bishop and Christi Lujan are doing it the right way by develop-
ing individual choir members. In the UIL Solo-Ensemble Contest
recently held at Gainesville High School, SHS choir members brought
back over 50 UIL Division One medals, with 10 soloists and 2 large
ensembles advancing to state! In order to advance to state, the UIL
requires performers to score a Division One rating on a Class One
event. Class One in UIL means that they perform music literature that
is college or professional level in difficulty.
Girl’s Powerlifting – One of our female high school students will
advance to the state level for competition in powerlifting.
Business Professionals of America (BPA) – One of our female high
school students won first place in Payroll Accounting at the State
BPA Conference.
All-State Basketball – One Lady Porcupine earned the ultimate indi-
vidual basketball award from the Texas Girls Coaches Association
(TGCA). She was picked 4A All-State by TGCA.
4A Region II Swimming Championship – This is the first time that
Springtown has had a swimmer to compete in high school swimming,
and to advance to Regional Competition! Our Springtown swimmer
placed third in the 500 meter freestyle, winning the bronze medal. He
placed fourth in the 100 meter breaststroke. Winners from each re-
gion and the next eight fastest times automatically qualify for the state
meet. The SHS swimmer barely missed the cut-off in the 500 meter
freestyle and had a faster time than other regional winners. Our re-
gion is one of the most competitive in the state. Overall, he earned 31
points for Springtown High School, which ranked the men’s team
15th of 23. Not bad for the lone Porcupine!
Cosmetology State Contest—Congratulations to two high school
students advancing to state in cosmetology. These students currently
attend cosmetology school at Weatherford High School.
High achievement is usually the result of many positive factors—
initiative, ability, parental influence, dedicated staff members, school
environment, and community support. We are blessed at Springtown
ISD and extremely proud of the students and their many academic and
athletic accomplishments.
