“Goodliness on Campus” - Two Weeks of Spiritual Refreshment in Crawford University

he Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Emmanuel Adebayo Adeniran

approved a two weeks Revival and Evangelistic meeting in

Crawford University with the theme “ Godliness on Campus”.

Crawford University’s motto is “Knowledge with Godliness”, it is

not enough for an individual to have all the knowledge the world

can afford, having a personal encounter with Christ makes such a

fellow a child of God and that endears Godliness into such a life. A

Godly person with the academic knowledge makes a that fellow a

person with an “excellent spirit”

The two weeks of revival in Crawford University therefore gives

every staff and student the opportunity of moving to a higher

level…be a child of God and have

an excellent spirit. The first week

was a one hour prayer retreat

from Monday to Friday between 5

p.m. and 6 p.m. while the second

week started with film show on

Monday and Tuesday to Friday

was evangelical meetings with

wonderful gospel songs and

orchestration, and testimonies

were given by those that have been blessed by God with the gifts.

First Week: One Week Prayer Retreat

he first week was a five days, 1 hour each day prayer session

which ran between 5pm and 6pm. It was a unique moment for Staff

and students of Crawford University to spend time before the LORD

God Almighty after closing from their daily schedules, casting their

cares upon Him.

Extracts from Second Week of Evening Revival and Evangelistic Services

DAY ONE: Sunday: 05/11/17

Sunday School

Topic: The Reward of Faith and Perseverance

Memory Verse: Mark 7:37

Text: Matthew 15: 21- 31, Mark 7:31-37.

Hymns: CGS 34,526, 536.

The Sunday school started with the topic The reward of Faith and

perseverance and the teacher spoke about Jesus and the

Syrophenician woman whose daughter was afflicted of the devil for

so long, it was so clear that the woman had tried all she could do to

relieve her daughter of this affliction, all to no avail until she heard

of Jesus Christ moving through the coast of Trye and Sidon, She

took the courage, came to Jesus to seek healing for her daughter,

hereby cried to Jesus for mercy. Her cries remain unanswered as the

disciple pleaded for Jesus to send her away. Jesus tells her that he

was not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

This Syrophenician woman persisted in her request and a penitent

payer there after Jesus told her that it was not meet to give the

children’s bread to dogs. This woman instead of being offended

found boldness in Jesus’s word with a confident reply {even the

dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their master’s table}. Jesus

Christ being moved by the level of her faith replied, O woman great

is thy faith, be it unto you according to thy faith, and that day the

woman’s daughter was healed.

The second part of the Sunday school talks about Jesus at the sea of

Galilee by the way of Decapolis, the deaf was bought to Jesus to

heal, Jesus puts his finger in the man’s ears and touches his tongue

{Everyone around looked surprised}, Immediately his ears are

opened and his tongue loosed, the people are grateful and with joy

in their heart proclaim, “He hath done all things well” {Mark 7:37}.

Closing Hymns - CGS: 107,403

DEVOTIONAL SERVICE

Preacher: Bro. Festus Oyeniyi

Hymn: CGS: 124

Choir’s Special Song: Let the power of

the lord come down

Bible Reading: Isaiah 61: 1-3

Topic: Situational Change

Sermon/References.

Isaiah 61:1-3, Luke 19

Jesus Christ walking through Samaria,

stopped at the well of Jacob and saw a

woman who was trying to fetch water

from a well, but Jesus seeing her,

pleaded to her that he was thirsty and

she should give him water to drink, but

the woman because of the claim said a Samaritan has nothing in

common with a Jew. Jesus knowing her mind revealed to her all that

had happen to her and that he will give to her the living water which

will make her never run thirsty and will make her free from sin.

Jesus Christ is the living water, we are expected to drink from this

living water and get everlasting life.

They that worship God must worship God in spirit and in truth;

Jesus is the living water and is ready to give to everyone who is

willing to get eternal life. Jesus was passing through Samaria, and

there was a certain blind man called Bathimeaus, knowing Jesus was

passing by cried out loud, “Jesus Christ thou son of David have

mercy upon me”. Jesus Christ hearing his cry called on him and

asked him what he wanted. Not thinking twice the blind man replied

I want to gain my sight. Jesus asking if he believed and because of

his faith, he could see for the very first time. Jesus is willing and

able to give everyone the living water that changes a man’s life for

good and forever. All power in Heaven and on earth is given to

Jesus and he will change every bad situation in your life and make

your life a glorious one. All you need to do is to “PUSH” {Pray

until Something Happen} Pray down the revival power of God.

Evening Revival & Evangelistic Services

Preacher: Bro. Popogbe

Hymn: CGS 215

TOPIC: The touch that makes the difference

Bible Reference: Mark 8:22

God comes to Crawford University and the students, management,

says Jesus touch us. A supernatural touch and an everlasting touch

changes everything. A man’s touch on his baby is temporary, a song

may touch you for a little time, but the divine touch with a

difference is Jesus Christ. To receive this touch, take a break on

earthly things and look upon Jesus. The touch made Elijah who was

walking to even move faster than the king’s chariots. What

distinguishes a man is the touch of Jesus. God will touch every area

of your life.

The story of the old violin:

An old violin was put on sale for 1 dollar, and a lot of people bided

for that old violin, but as the auctioneer was ready to let it out for 3

dollar, an old man came forward, took the violin, retuned the violin

and played it, that the violin produced great tune, this attracted more

attention that there was a great deal of sale. But finally the violin

was sold for 50,000 dollar, what changed the price of the violin and

made it of great quality with a good look; that was the touch of the

master’s hand. God will touch every area of your life and you will

live to glorify him.

Day 2 : Monday, 6th 2017

Film Show

A film produced by the Apostolic Faith Youth Department title

“The Band of Life” was shown to the congregation.

A hymn from CGS 276 was song followed by an opening prayer

and the announcement after which the film commenced.

The firm show gives a brief interpretation of true worship, many

churches don’t give the indent meaning of true worship, many

churches are focused on making money, getting more congregation,

believing that the grace of God has covered their sins, don’t regard

not doing God’s will as a sin and thereby has corrupted the

intervention of the presence of God. The bible tells us that shall we

continue in sin that Grace may abide {God forbid it}. The time is

now that they who worship God must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Day 3: 07/11/2017 - REVIVAL SERVICE

Choir Ministration: Blessed Jesus Loves You.

CGS: 201, 207, 221

Announcement-Revivalist: BRO DAPO AFOLABI

CGS: 271

Testimonies:

1. Thank God for giving me the forgiveness of sin, one that

no man can give. God provided for her education, gave

her a good result, provided her Job, and his mercy endures

forever.

2. Knowing God brought peace, God took away nightmare

that had been a problem from childhood. {The name of

the lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and

they are saved}.

3. Hearing of hell from young age brought fear for a very

long time. She began to seek God, but instead God found

Her, she received salvation. God took away her self-

righteousness and gave her Godly righteousness, took

away worldly desire and gave her heavenly desire.

4. The God of old is still the God of today. He gave his life

to Christ, God gave him salvation, sanctification, baptism

of the Holy Ghost, God saw him through his academic

life, gave him a wonderful wife, and kept through life’s

hard times.

Choir Ministration: TRY JESUS.

Bible Reading: Daniel 5: 23-31

SERMON: THE FATE OR END POINT OF THE WICKED

Psalm 9: 17 says the wicked shall turn into hell and all the nations

that forget God,

Psalm 7:11 say God judgeth the righteous and God is angry with the

wicked every day.

God wants to take us from the level we are to the next level, but the

wickedness of man has brought God’s wrath upon man. God said; I

know the thought I have towards you, the thought of good and not

of evil to give you an expected end. The bible story of two brothers

{Children of Judah}, Genesis 38:7, tells us about the wickedness of,

and after God killed him, God also told to raise children but because

of the wickedness of his heart God killed him. God is angry with the

wicked every day. Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a

reproach. The people of Sodom and Gomorrah sinned against God

and that brought forth the wrath of God upon them {Genesis 19:1-

20}. The cause of God is upon the wicked, but God will spear the

righteous, and bring upon them his blessing.

Wickedness is when one sees the blood of Jesus Christ

shed for atonement and makes it a waste, when one sees the grace of

God and despises it, one who is corrupt, unholy and prodigal with

God’s mercy. God has made provision for man but the wicked sees

it and choose a way of destruction. There is nothing the grace of

God can’t cover, “God is tender hearted”. {Forsake your ways, turn

unto God, He will have mercy and abundantly pardon.}

Prayer: God touch my life, wash me with your blood and accept me.

3. She is thanking God for raising people to help her and

God raised people up to pay her fees. Thank you Jesus.

5. A 200 level student thanking God for saving him from an

accident that could have taken this life, but God held the

vehicle to its destination even though the driver was

careless but God mercy saved them from death. Thank

you Jesus.

Choir Ministration: SINCE JESUS CAME TO STAY {AMAZING

GRACE, WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS, SWEET

JESUS}

SERMON: THE PROCESS FULL OF POWER.

The process full of power is for me and for you. Every sinner has a

past and a future .In today’s study we will consider 2 people in the

bible who went through this process full of power and got good

result {John 3: 16}.

There are two parts in this process:

{1} God’s part {2} Man’s part [our part]

1. GOD’S PART: God’s part is an already completed process John

3: 16. God started and finished this process through Jesus Christ,

this lead to the death and resurrection of Jesus, his suffering and

final declaration “It is finished.

2. Isaiah 55: 7; Let the wicked forsake his ways and the unrighteous

man his thought; let him return to the lord, that he may have mercy

on him and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. This is the

process where both I and you have to take action and our action

determines the result we get.

1st Person: 2kings 5: 1 Na’aman was a great man{a man of war} but

he was a leper, we thank God for revealing to him this process full

of power through a young girl and after a wile of proud heart he

humbled himself and got his healing.

2nd Person” 1Chronicles 4: 10, Jabez took time to go through the

process power, called upon God and God granted him that which he

requested and God made him more honorable than his brethren.

Jesus Christ has the power to deliver, set free, enlarge your coast,

make you successful, but it depends on your choice. Tonight god is

calling you, he is ready to give you a new life and a great future,

confess your sins

PRAYER: God thank you for the power in your word, help us to go

through a process full of power and give us victory.

He loved their way of worship, He got sanctified after so

much trial and finally he was baptized with the Holy

Ghost and Fire.

CGS: 6

2. A staff of Crawford University: She is thanking God for

the salvation of her soul. While she was in secondary

school, her best friend was dubious and led her to a man’s

house, pretending to be her brother but God saved her

from and eternal stigma. After that, she followed some

supposed friend’s to a hotel, but God saved her again from

destiny destroyers. In her school, on a field in April 1977,

there was a revival in which the passage used {John

11:40} touched her, changed her and from that day she

was made whole.

CGS: 6

3. A staff of Crawford University: She was from a Muslim

family, was later saved but kept on moving from one

church to another, until one day a sister came and told her

about Apostolic Faith Mission, She confessed all her sins

on the alter, found salvation and was free.

CGS: 6

4. A staff of Crawford University: She was from a

Christian background but not saved, until her sister

took her to Apostolic Faith Mission, she heard a

sermon about eternal life, she decided not to end her

life in Hell and She prayed until she was saved. From

then her life changed for good, God kept on

providing for her.

Choir Ministration: JESUS IS A FRIEND OF SINNERS. {HE

TOUCHED ME}

SERMON:

God’s love has brought us together from different part of life

together to him. God’s love took the children of Israel to the Canaan

Land, blessed and prospered them. But as time went on, they felt

that they were self-sufficient and forgot the God that had watched

them through hard times: “Let’s look at our personal life’s, are we

not thinking we have what we need, attained what we have and have

forgotten God”. After this the children of Israel chased God away

with their actions and darkness settled in among them, the

philistine’s attacked them and the Israelite became slaves in their

own country{This is what sin can do}. The Israelite labored, but the

tax masters were always there to reap their harvest.

Let us deal with our modern day life, you work hard, attend lectures,

struggle through life but have nothing to show for it. Instead of

reaping good harvest; fear, nightmare, hardship sets in. After all

this, the Israelite realized that the life of a sinner brings fear, travail,

etc. Proverb 1: 10 says my son, if sinners entice you consent thou

not. Then the children of Israel put away the strange Gods, Idols, put

on sack cloth, came before God in repentance and pleaded to

Samuel to intercede on their behalf before God.

Samuel offered bunt offerings before the lord, God looked upon

their iniquity had mercy upon them, brought peace and fought for

them. But we have one greater than bunt offerings and sacrifices,

one always pleading on our behalf before God. That person is Jesus

Christ and only He can set you free from the bondage of sin. As

long as you are not a son of God and not of the devil, Jesus becomes

your defender, provider, refuge, shield and buckler. God is ready to

help you, fight for you, surrender your life to him and he will plead

your cause.

6. He wants to thank God for being a universal God and not

a God of partiality he want to thank God for saving his

soul and prays to be a candidate of heaven. Pray for him

Choir Ministration: Without Him.

SERMON: An Encounter with Jesus.

Many people fail to understand God’s love for man. We look around

and are tired of looking for what is not, many think what is the

essence of being alive, but they don’t know the supremacy of God.

Let no one deceive you, according to the scriptures there is heaven

and hell. You are here to do the right thing “have an encounter with

Jesus”. I am present my testimony of a journey in my vehicle on

November 30, 2010 and was being driven by a young guy who was

coming for his ICAN graduation,, while driving a motorcycle was

also right beside trying to overtake the car, all of a sudden there was

a crash but there is only one thing we know “the name of the lord is

a strong tower, the righteous run into it and they are safe”. After the

crash he noticed that only one window was open and that was the

way they got out, with fuel scarcity and trying to get fuel, he had a

50 liter fuel in his car, but after all, nothing happened, no hurt and

no death. Only Jesus can do it and only He can save you.

Jesus went to mount olive and the Pharisees brought a woman who

was caught in the act of adultery, with this they tried to tempt Jesus,

But Jesus knowing their heart bent down and wrote on the floor and

said, whoever is without sin should cast the first stone and all her

accusers fled and Jesus said to her, Go and sin no more. Jesus was

after the soul of the woman and not after her past life of sin. Jesus

loves you, the thirst of salvation is a sweet and interesting

encounter, it brings peace and joy. “I can do all things through

Page 7: Vol. 1 No. 001 th Sunday 12 November 2017

Christ who strengthen me. An encounter with Jesus will last forever,

1John 1: 9, Confess your sin and Jesus will accept you. Today is

your day, tomorrow may be too late. Jesus is the present help in time

of trouble; Jesus is there for you every day and everywhere.

An encounter will distinguish you for Christ and forever, Jesus is

giving you that freedom through an encounter with him, one that no

one else can offer.

Sunday School:

Topic: THE ROBES AND GARMENTS OF ISREAL’S PRIEST

MEMORY VERSE: Exodus 28: 30 {Aaron shall bear the judgment

of the children of Israel upon his heart before the lord continually}

Text: Exodus 28: 1 – 43

Preacher: BRO FIEWOR HENRY.

The Sunday school stated with the topic The Robes and Garment of

Israel’s Priest in which the preacher stated the benefit of the topic to

you as Christians. According to the topic God was so specific about

his principle, Even when Moses was on the mountain with God

ministering to him, God told him that the children of Israel had

sinned against him and that he will destroy them, but Moses pleaded

unto God on their behalf and proclaimed who is on the lords side

and only the Levites stood out for God. God choose the tribe of

Aaron to serve as the priest before the lord to intercede for the

children of Israel. God was so specific on the uniqueness of the

Priest’s dressing {Exodus 28}, this reason was for the beauty and

for the Glory of God. Isaiah 61: 10 tells us that God has covered us

with the Robes/ Clothes/ and Garment of Righteousness. God was

also specific about the adornment of the garment. Our adornment

should be an inward adornment. The robe of the priest has

everything to do with our today’s life It must be of fine linear, “that

of righteousness and beauty in man”.

The priest cloth had a turban rapped round his head, with a golden

plate and an inscription which states “Holiness unto the Lord”. The

Priest wore clothing made of white linear which indicates

righteousness of the saints and an short sleeve garment worn on it

made of blue and gold color. The Bible made it known to us that the

soul that sinned shall perish, so to enter the Holy’s of Holy’s, the

Priest must be free from sin, with this, a bell and a rope was fitted

round his waist to monitor his movement.

Also on both shoulder were the name of the 12 tribe of Israel, 6

inscribed each shoulder. The breast plate has 4 roles of precious

stones; every role has 3 stones with the name of the 12 tribe of Israel

written on each one. Thank God for his mercy, we have one greater

than the priest, Jesus Christ bears our burden and pleads on our

behalf. Today, God speaks and ministers to us through the Holy

Spirit. God expects us to{PUSH} pray until something happen. We

are also expected to stand as an intercessor for one another and are

expected to live a righteous life and one free from to sin.

SERMON:

Thank God for his mercy and kindness over all his people and pray

God helps us all to make it to heaven The day is coming when we

all shall retire from this word and reside with our father in Heaven,

Revelation 21. God is ready to revive our heart, when one sinner

surrenders his/her life to Jesus Christ, there is joy in heaven. God

created a new heaven, even when one is in darkness; we have hope

that Jesus is the light of the world. In Genesis, God created the day

Page 8: Vol. 1 No. 001 th Sunday 12 November 2017

and the night, but in Revelations, we are made to know that there is

no night everything is new. We are hoping for heaven, lot of

preparations should be made; let us be watchful for the last days

come by and by, when everything will be new. In Genesis we read

of the forbidden fruit but in Revelation, we read of the fruit that

brings eternal life which was made for man.

In Genesis, whoever eats’ the forbidden fruit shall surely die, but in

Revelation when all is made new, there shall be no more death,

curse, pain, weeping, sorrow and all of sort. In Genesis, man was

withdrawn from the tree of life, but in Revelation, we have the

assurance that when all things will be made new, we will be taken to

the tree of life where there is eternal life.

How painful will it be when after all the sufferings, persecutions,

and preparation for that glorious day {The Rapture of the Saints}

and on that day the angels declare your name not found in the book

of life. There is no second chance for not making heaven. Heaven is

a glorious place and Jesus gives us the assurance that he has gone to

prepare a place for us in his father’s kingdom. The good news is that

God is here to bless you and make you a blessing wherever you go

or find yourself. Lord in the book of thy kingdom, let my name be

written there, this should be the prayer of every one and help us lord

to inherit thy kingdom.
