My name is

Felicia, but

e v e r y o n e

calls me Liss,

after a dear

friend of mine

started calling

me so. I fell in

love with the

name Liss,

and so I have

adopted it . I am from Romania, and have been a Michael

Jackson fan for almost 23 years, ever since the first concert

that Michael had in Bucharest

1992, for me that was the be-

ginning of an incredible jour-

ney.

I was very young and I remem-

ber being flooded with all the

sudden changes of life back

then. It was very different for

us and echoes of the revolution

and the tremendous change

that happened in my country

were not yet over in 1992. All of

a sudden from the faded and gray world of communism,

adults and children alike were flooded in color and sound. For

months the press was hyper excited with Michael's concert

and I remember the songs and the videos and how everyone

on the street was singing and imitating him. It was nice but I

wasn't really aware of his amazing presence, until that night

when I saw him. No I was not there. I saw the concert on an

old black and white TV. That was all it took for me to see the

magic. It took me 2 months more or less, to decide if I was

worthy enough to be a fan of Michael Jackson. Yes may sound

funny to you but back then being a fan of MJ was quite a big

thing for me. I had to see if I was up for the challenge. Some-

how I knew it will be a rocky road ahead and that Michael

would need my full love and loyalty. That was exactly what I

felt it. Over the years it wasn't easy to be a Michael Jackson

fan but I stuck with him. Now, painting, happened in my life a

little later than how it happens with most artists. I have had a

until I was about 25 yrs. old.

It was in a very difficult mo-

ment of my life, when I saw

myself basically kicked out of

the job, forgotten by friends,

left all alone and pregnant

and basically this world kind

of shut it's doors on me, even

port me during that time. I felt

at the end of my life, but God

had other plans. That was

when he started changing my

heart, from a hopeless person, to a winner and to someone

that praises Him. It often amazes me how people miss

Michael's relation to God. Long story short is God has done so

much for me in the past 6 years that I have to just stop and

give Him praise for that. I wouldn't be here and I wouldn't be

painting if it wasn't for God Almighty. Out of my darkest time

comes the brightest person in my life, my 5 yr. old son , who

often is teaching me things I have forgotten by growing up. I

can truly say God gave me the one of the best gifts, through

my son and painting. First out of the need to fill in time and

depressing thoughts and then as a means of living and now ...

I hope not only as a means of living but as a means of encour-

aging others too.

Little by little painting began to be and mean more in my life.

I began making small pendants and trinkets and eventually I

came to sell them online, then I started painting Michael in-

spired pendants, and those true fans that see them love

them, they felt it and they kept asking me to paint for them,

and one day one of these fans asked me if I was willing for a

challenge. I have never painted a canvas before but I was so

willing to try. It was like my welcome into a "real" artist world.

My first Michael Jackson painting was such a rush of emo-

tions for me to paint. Since I was not an art-school artist,

and fairly new at painting, you can only imagine the butter-

flies I had. It felt as if Michael was really here watching me

paint and I felt so close to him when painting.

This was a horrid winter and during this time I began noticing

lots of people in need, beggars or homeless, out in the freez-

ing cold so I guess you can call it that Holy Spirit impressed

my heart on this situation. So I began taking them tea and

food (when I had it) and I think it's what Michael would love

us all to do. Help those in need and I am beginning to grasp

that by my painting I can impress people's lives in more

ways. So in a nutshell this is what I'm focusing on right

now ... I have to say that art and jewelry that I make are the

main reason for me to survive and feed my family. Most of

what I earn goes into bills, food and clothes for my 5 year old

son. But in my heart I feel I can help more with all I get from

the selling of my work. Just seems fair to me at this point in

my life to help others in return. It's what Michael did all his

life.
