No matter what the happenings of the world
confronts us with, we will remain strong. It is our
Risen Savior, who gave His life to save us from
our sins, which gives us our strength during this
trying time. We listen to His word, His teachings
and His call so that we can be a rock for our
church and community. It is a time to rejoice,
for we have been saved from all our earthly
problems, to gain our heavenly reward.
He truly has risen. HAPPY EASTER!!!
Please pray for all seminarians.
Your prayers and support make a difference.

V O C A T I O N C O R N E R
For a stronger
sense of the
mission of the
Church,
especially
among our
youth and
young adults, in
this time of pandemic and
in our discernment of a new
pastoral plan.
MASS SCHEDULE Until further notice, there will be no
public Masses offered in the parish.
Bishop McKnight has dispensed all
Catholics from the obligation to
attend Sunday Mass in person. All
the faithful are encouraged to
make an act of Spiritual
Communion daily in lieu of
receiving Holy Communion. Our
church will remain open for
personal prayer and reflection.
ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present
in the Most Holy Sacrament,
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You
into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive you sacramentally,
come at least spiritually
into my heart. AMEN

ALLELUIA, CHRIST IS RISEN! Easter is the greatest and the most important feast in the
Church. It marks the birthday of our eternal hope in this
world of pain, sorrows and tears. Easter reminds us that
life is worth living. It is our belief in the Real Presence of
the Risen Jesus in our souls, in His Church, in the Blessed
Sacrament and in Heaven that gives meaning to our
personal, as well as to our common, prayers. Our trust in
the all-pervading presence of the Risen Lord gives us
strength to fight against temptations and freedom from
unnecessary worries and fears. The prayer of St. Patrick,
the Apostle of Ireland, reads: “Christ before me, Christ
beside me, Christ within me, never to part.”
PARISH OUTREACH Our parish leadership has begun to implement a parish
outreach effort in an effort to touch base with our
parishioners during these difficult times. Each family in
the parish should be receiving a call from someone
representing the parish. During the call, they will verify
your contact information so that we have a good way
to contact you in times when we need to get
information out to the parish quickly. But more
importantly, we want to check on you and offer
assistance to help you in any way we possibly can.
We hope you will take this opportunity to make new
connections with your fellow parishioners and to ask for
help if you need it.

EASTER FLOWERS If you would like to contribute toward the cost of flowers
for Easter, please send your donation, along with the
name of anyone you wish to make the donation in
memory of, to the parish office.
RICE BOWL We are accepting the Rice Bowl donations at the parish
office. There is a box for Rice Bowls next to the box for
donations outside the parish office. Thank you to
everyone who has donated toward this important
fundraiser for Catholic Relief Services. One St. Martin
School student worked very hard during Lent and raised
over $80. THANK YOU.
He is Risen! ALLELUIA! I love Easter! The season is full of
hope and excitement. When I was little, the
season meant a new Easter bonnet, white gloves and a
new dress -usually a hand-me-down one from my aunt
who was a year older, but it was new to me. This year,
although the surroundings were different, there was no
new dress, and we still proclaimed our ALLELUIAS in our
living rooms; Easter trumpets for us the virtue of HOPE. In
the coming weeks, during the 40 days of the Easter
season, the teachers and children will discuss what the
virtue of hope means to them; how they are practicing
it and keeping it alive during the pandemic. As the
government continues to warn us to "social distance",
we know we are an Easter people and are united in
spirit. Watch us on Facebook as our students proclaim
ALLELUIA He is Risen! to the world.
On the SMS Homeschool front: I am so proud of the
students, teachers and parents as they work tirelessly to
ensure that learning is taking place. They continue to
meet each challenge as a learning experience and
help each other "plow" through the unexpected. I have
heard that the students are enjoying the relaxed dress
code of Homeschool, but would trade it all in just to
come to school to see their friends and have recess with
their friends. I would trade everything too, just to have
them back in the halls again. I am missing the students
and parents tremendously. Please continue to pray for
our school as we shape this new world of
e-learning. ~ Mrs. Clingman
