Activities listed below are extra-curricular opportunities for students at Pennsbury High School. Vocal Music CHAMBER CHOIR Chamber Choir consists of 11th and 12th grade students who audition in May/June each year. It is a highly select group of students dedicated to the performance of advanced choral repertoire. Performances in numerous schools, community functions, and festival events take place several times a year; contact Mr. Moyer in the Choral Music Department at PHS West for more information. FALCONAIRS The Falconairs is an all-girls chorus open to girls in grades 10-12 who are currently enrolled in a curricular choir. Contact Ms. Lindsey Bruno at PHS West for more information. MUSICAL THEATER The annual musical theater production is sponsored by the Choral Music Department. It is open to all students in grades 9-12 and is usually scheduled in February/March. To become involved, students must audition for roles or volunteer for crews. Contact Mr. Moyer (producer of the annual musical) at PHS West for more information. These ensembles rehearse and perform for community and school functions throughout the year. These ensembles are student-driven and occur during the EOP periods. PENNSBURY CONCERT JAZZ BAND The Pennsbury Concert Jazz Band performs at numerous local, national and international jazz festivals and has traveled throughout the United States and around the world. The Band’s regular season runs from mid-November to late May and includes hosting two major jazz festivals at Pennsbury High School East. Detailed information concerning membership prerequisites and the ensemble is available from Mr. Mazzeo at PHS East.

PENNSBURY HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND AND BAND FRONT The marching band performs at all Pennsbury football games, parades, and travels extensively throughout the United States and around the world. The band is open to all 9th through 12th grade members of the instrumental music department. The band front is open to all 9th through 12th grade students. The marching band and band front’s regular season runs from mid-August until early November and includes two community performances in the spring. Information about this ensemble is available from Mr. Mazzeo at PHS East.

THEATER ORCHESTRA The Theater Orchestra performs for the annual musical at Pennsbury High School East. Rehearsals take place afterschool and on selected Saturdays from November through February. For more information, please contact Mr. Mazzeoat PHS East.

TheaterDRAMATICS Open to all students. Dramatics offers a full year of theatrical and musical productions for actors, singers, set designers, stage crew, lighting designers and student directors. Activities are held year-round as needed per production and include the fall drama, PA State Thespian Conference, the annual musical, spring drama, Dessert Theater, DramaFest, A Night of One-Acts (usually student-directed one act plays produced by Pennsbury Drama) and the International Thespian Conference in Nebraska. The commitment is every day after school to practice for the production, especially for principals, chorus and the company. For dedicated students, there is the opportunity to earn service points during productions to become a member of Pennsbury’s Thespian Troupe #830, an Honor Society for the Dramatic Arts. STAGE CREW - PHS EAST Students who would like to be involved in high school stage productions and build sets for all performances in Pennsbury are invited to join the stage crew. Students will also have the opportunity to learn how to operate lighting equipment, special effects equipment, and sound systems.
