Vocabulary Flashcards to Support Phonological Awareness and Phonics ActivitiesAs students work through the online activities in the Phonological Awareness and Phonics strands of Core5, they are exposed to rich vocabulary through pictures and images. While the primary focus of these activities is to build sound awareness, sound-symbol knowledge, and decoding skills, exposure to this robust vocabulary can help build oral language skills.

The following list is a resource for educators who would like to preview and/or reinforce this often unfamiliar vocabulary with students as they work through Core5. This may be particularly helpful for students who demonstrate limited vocabulary knowledge. A vocabulary flashcard toolkit (preprinted cards and templates for personalized instruction) is included with this list.
