Informal: (fam.) vs. Formal: tú Ud. (usted)(family, friends, (adult, formal anyone familiar by first name) situation to show

the word “you.” In Spanish, there are two “you’s.” (tú vs. Ud.) You

choose based on who you are speaking directly to.

Good-bye Bye-bye (informal) See you later. See you soon. See you in a while. See you tomorrow. I have to go. I’m leaving (going). Well, I have class. We’ll see each other.

Introductions:

Asking for one’s name:Informal: ¿Cómo te llamas? Me llamo___.

Soy ____.Formal: ¿Cómo se llama Ud.? Me llamo__.

Asking for friend’s name:¿Cómo se llama tu amigo/a (él / ella)? Se llama Roberto.

Presenting Friends:Este es mi amigo Roberto. Esta es mi amiga Anita.
