The Class of 2019 made their debut as Scots on August 13th, 2015 in their freshman orientation. They met their teachers and staff and played games to get to know each other. The ASB planned the activities and gave them a tour of what will be their home for the next four years. This year the freshman class is composed of 36 boys and 41 girls. The 77 students are excited to start school and get to know what being part of the Vincent Family is all about! As is tradition at VMCHS, the seniors organized a breakfast to welcome our new Scots on September 17, 2015. They had breakfast, played games and enjoyed hearing about the seniors’ experiences.

Go Scots, Be GreenThis year the ASB, led by Ecology Representative Luke Brundy, started a recycling program on campus. Each class decorated two containers and are tasked with collecting cans and water bottles for recycling. The money raised will be donated to the building fund. Classes have started to fill those containers and we are excited to see who can raise the most money per class. Please feel free to bring your recyclable materials to school we will donate the money we make to the building fund!

Every year our freshman class attends the school’s club expo. It is a time when new students can learn more about the clubs on campus. This year the clubs that were in attendance were Mock Trial, Yearbook, Art Club, Spanish Literature Club, Choir, and VMCHS Sports. Students listened to what members had to say and signed up. Overall it was a successful club expo! Students are reminded that if they want to start a club on campus they need to find an advisor and present a club description to Mr. Eddie for approval.

    Fall Festival

    Freshmen Pitch Perfect

    Sophomore Teen Beach Movie

    Juniors Hairspray

    Seniors Hish School Musical

Following Red Ribbon Week, the Scots got ready for Fall Festival. Each class got a different musical and were asked to make up a skit using that movie as inspiration. All classes gave it their all with awesome backgrounds, changes or scenery, props, dances and dialogue! ASB brought in judges so that they could determine who won the competition. It was a very difficult decision but 1st place went to the Juniors, 2nd place to the Seniors, 3rd place to the freshmen and 4th place to the Sophomores. Keep up the good work! We can’t wait to see what you do for the next ASB Activity.

Scot SportsYour SCOTS are in the semi-final game. They played a great game last Friday (Nov. 13) vs. Army Navy and won 31-3. They are set to play Crawford High School THIS Friday November 20th in San Diego. If they win this Frday’s game, they will advance to the FINALS! All players have their eyes on the prize and hope to repeat their appearance in the CIF Div. 5 Finals.

This year’s volleyball team was coached by Mrs. Trejo. Even though they didn’t have the season they expected this year they are optimistic for the upcoming seasons where players will be moving up and hopefully getting a better record for the Lady Scots. They say goodbye to only two seniors this year, Cynthia Woo and Carolina Madrigal.

This year’s Lady Scots Tennis team did great in league play- losing only to the IVL Champions Calexico. Two of our players, Ana Fernanda Villareal and Ofelia Lopez, have qualified for CIF singles and will be playing in San Diego next week. We wish them the best of luck!

The Vincent Memorial Cheerleaders have attended every football game this season they have been busy getting ready for Regionals on December 12, 2015. If they qualify they will be going to Nationals in March!
