INTRODUCTION

This document describes the installation of virtualization tools, import and

configuration of virtual machines:

− Hyper-V;

− Oracle VM VirtualBox;

− Parallels Desktop.

Windows

Download options

Download via browser 1. Open your link in any browser, for example in google chrome.

Download via “azcopy” (fast download) 1. Go to the official download site.

2. Download azcopy version for your host operating system.

3. Extract the utility from the archive to any convenient location.

4. Open powershell via administrator in Windows host OS case.

5. Go to the extracted folder with the azcopy utility using the command:

Set-Location “your folder”

6. Download your file using the command:

.\azcopy.exe cp “your link” “place to save”

Hyper-V

Requirements 7. Windows 10 Enterprise, Pro, or Education

8. 64-bit Processor with Second Level Address Translation (SLAT).

9. CPU support for VM Monitor Mode Extension (VT-c on Intel CPUs).

10. Minimum of 4 GB memory.

The Hyper-V role cannot be installed on Windows 10 Home.

Enable Hyper-V using PowerShell 1. Open a PowerShell console as Administrator.

2. Run the following command:

Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V -All

3. When the installation has completed, reboot.

Import For Import VM, follow steps:

1. For download .zip archive use link that you will be informed;

2. Extract the folder from the archive to the place where you will use the VM

3. Open Hyper-V Manager

1. In Hyper-V Manager click “New” and choose “Virtual machine”

2. Go to “Connect Virtual Hard Disk”

3. Browse your disk from folder

4. Go to “Summary” and click “Finish” button

5. For connection to VM select your VM and click “connect” button

Hardware Modification 1. To modify hardware settings of VM, go click “Settings” button

Oracle VM VirtualBox

Requirements In order to run VirtualBox on your machine, you need:

1. Reasonably powerful x86 hardware. Any recent Intel or AMD processor should do.

2. Memory. Depending on what guest operating systems you want to run, you will need at least 512

MB of RAM (but probably more, and the more the better).

3. Hard disk space. You will need at least 50 GB

Installation 1. For download, follow link:

https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads 2. And chose your host system

3. Follow the installation points

Note: After installing VirtualBox you need to add Extension Pack.

1. For download, follow link: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

2. Find the item “VirtualBox Extension Pack” and click “All supported platforms” for download

Extension Pack.

3. Open Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager program

4. Click on File button and choose Preferences

5. Go to “Extensions” and click “Adds new package” and choose downloaded Extension Pack file.

Import For Import VM, follow steps:

1. For download .zip archive use link that you will be informed;

2. Extract the folder from the archive to the place where you will use the VM

3. Open Oracle VM VirtualBox and click on “Import” button

4. Then select file “windows_pilot.ovf” in your folder

5. Next step is launch your VM by click on “Start” button

Hardware Modification 1. To modify hardware settings of VM, go click “Settings” button

2. Go to “System”, where you can modify Base Memory and Processor(s)

Parallels Desktop

Requirements 1. macOS (Catalina 10.15, Mojave 10.14, High Sierra 10.13, Sierra 10.12);

2. A Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, Core i9, Intel Core M or

Xeon processor;

3. Minimum of 4 GB memory.

Installation 1. For download, follow link:

https://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/ 2. Choose ‘Download Trial’

3. Follow the installation points

Import For Import VM, follow steps:

1. For download .zip archive use link that you will be informed;

2. Extract the folder from the archive to the place where you will use the VM

3. Open Parallels Desktop

4. In Parallels Desktop click “File” and choose “Open”

5. Then select file “windows.pvm” in your folder

6. Next step is launch VM by click on “Actions” button and click ‘Start’

7. Go to “Summary” and click “Finish” button

Requirements If your computer has good characteristics, then you can improve the parameters of the virtual

machine for better performance.

If your computer cannot start a virtual machine with recommended requirements, then you can

set the minimum requirements for starting a virtual machine.

First Login 1. After starting the VM, you need to send a command to unlock the screen, and press “OK”

2. Then, Login with “.\Local_User” and with the password that you will be informed

3. Next step is connect GlobalProtect with your EPAM credentials

Note: If you have not received your EPAM user account credentials yet, please wait until it will

be provided to you.

4. After connecting GlobalProtect, launch Add user to Admins, click “Add a user”, enter your EPAM

credentials. Relogin with your EPAM credentials

Updating your system

After installing all the software, you need to click the OPSWAT client icon and do ‘Recheck’. After

that click on the OPSWAT Client icon, after which you will go to the OPSWAT page with all the

information.

If OPSWAT writes that “No Issue Found” then you can start working with EPAM services.

If OPSWAT writes that “Device at Risk” then you need to fix the listed issues to work with

EPAM services. You can find all the necessary information on fixing issues in our guide
