FINISHINGSew cast-on and bound-off edges tog for centerback seam. With scrap yarn, tack sides of insidecollar edge along center front neck edge, leavingapprox 16 (18)"/40.5 (45.5)cm open on either sidefor armholes. Try on sweater and adjust armholeopenings if necessary. Sew collar in place andremove scrap yarn. Fold collar (like an accordion)into three folds at center front and stitch in place(see photo). �

Close-fitting top, worked horizontally in one piece, in a ridge pattern stitch with a gathered shawl collar.
