Welcome to EMS “Triple A” Week! We are pleased to offer a week of exciting programs in the areas of Arts, Athletics and Adventure for our students during the week of June 19–23, 2017. We are excited to offer our current EMS families opportunities for growth, enrichment and of course, fun! Listed below are the descriptions for the different programs.

Morning Programs 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

Afternoon Programs 1:00 p.m.–3:30 p.m.

STRING WEEKMorning ProgramThis exciting and special String Week is open to all EMS violinists and cellists entering first through eighth grade who want to build their skills, get a head start for next year and learn/polish music for the EMS Summer String Festival. Students will be divided into small groups of 3–10 violinists, cellists and violists, according to their age and level. String week faculty will include: Amelia Gold, Heidi Stubner, Ever Paredes, Misako Sato, Carey White, Brittany Sklar, Lorra Baylis, Ani Kalayjian, Jing Li, Nora Friedman and Sam Marchan.Space limited to 100 students. Cost: $400

Morning ProgramBand Week is open to all EMS wind, percussion, brass, bass, guitar and keyboard players entering fifth through eighth grade who are interested in the study of jazz, rock and blues style music. Students will be divided into small groups of 3–10 musicians according to their ages and levels. Band week faculty will include: Wayne DuMaine, Debbie Johns, John Ferrari and Pat Zuber. Space limited to 30 students. Cost: $400

Afternoon Program Open to all EMS students entering fifth through eighth grade who want to explore the world of musical theater. The students will work on movement, improvisation and musical theater. The week will culminate in a musical theater presentation to which parents are welcome. The Senior Workshop is under the direction of Alex Diaz with piano accompanist Glenn Gordon. Space limited to 30 students. Cost: $250

Afternoon Program Open to all EMS students entering second through fourth grade who want to explore the world of theater. Students will be working to build a short performance based on their interests and ideas. They will use games as the basis for exploring character, setting, conflict and other essential elements of a story. Fun improvisational games and short skits will help students gain confidence and skills as they work toward a short presentation to share at the end of the week. Space limited to 20 students. Cost: $250

Afternoon Program Calling all entering third through eighth graders! Come learn and play the sports that are played in Middle School: soccer, basketball and lacrosse. Students will have a chance to learn new skills and build friendships while playing and having fun! Eagle Sports Camp is under the direction of EMS Athletic Director Andy Escala. Cost: $250
