The P&C held a remarkably successful mufti day last Friday to collect donations of cake mixes etc. and I know they are cooking up a storm for their cake stall. The children are involved in a range of stalls from ice- cream spiders to knock ‘em downs and fairy floss. We will be inviting you to take part in a short survey about “Kids Matters” which is focussed on mental health in children. There will be a white elephant stall (donations can be dropped into the box outside the main office) and so much more! Everyone is invited to join us. Swim School begins next Wednesday for identified Year 2 students. Please return any permission notes tomorrow, (Thursday) at the latest, so that we can finalise numbers. Next Tuesday, 12 children from Year 4 will be travelling to Sydney to spend time with students from Lindfield Public School, which is our City Country Alliance partner. This is a reciprocal visit – last term, children from Lindfield came out to Alma for a week. The children have been through a selection process that included writing a persuasive letter to me, to convince me that they should be allowed to go. I look forward to the presentations they will develop on their return. I know they will have a wonderful time, as will Mr Lardner, Miss Townsend and Mrs DeGoumois who are accompanying them. Teachers are well into the writing of student reports at the moment. These will be sent home on Monday 7 th Dec, the day before Presentation Day and the Year 6 Farewell. Enjoy the fete – but be aware of the 41 degrees we are expecting.
