Visit our Show CentresVale Bridgecraft Show Centres are unlike other retail outlets because they provide a

relaxing, unpressured environment, where, after enjoying a cup of tea, you can spend as long as you need, trying all the sofas and chairs, ensuring that you select the most

comfortable option.

Our wide range of designs are also available in different ‘sits’ and sizes and a choice of cushion filling. All these options can be considered in the Show Centre whilst our expert

advisors guide you through the process.

Once you’ve selected your most comfortable and stylish choice of sofas and chairs you can then make the upholstery fabric choice. In each of our Show Centres we provide thousands of fabric options, many of which are exclusive to us, and all having passed

strenuous rub tests for domestic use. The beautiful fabrics range from stunning linens, velvets and chenille’s in every shade, through heritage stripes and patterns to woven

brocades in the most luxurious finishes.

Vale Bridgecraft combined have been making exceptional sofas and chairs in our workshop near Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, for over 150 years. The area is famous for its skills in joinery and textiles and has a long established heritage in fine furniture making. Our village here in the Calder valley is surrounded by beautiful countryside, wooded dales and open moors, the culture and ambience of the place creating the

Every piece of furniture we make requires extensive hand-crafting and an expert attention to detail. Throughout the process traditional skills are used to ensure the level of enduring quality that is worthy of the Vale Bridgecraft name.

Inspired designs

All our furniture designs are original; entirely developed and created by us to offer a wide range of styles, encompassing both heritage charm and contemporary living. The guiding principle of our designers is furniture that makes a stunning impression but is always combined with absolute comfort. Getting this harmony just right reflects our “over a century’s worth” of experience in great British furniture making.

Frames, springing and ideal support

The designs are brought to life though hand-built frames of solid beech and birch wood, sourced from FSC and PEFC managed forests. Generously, well-constructed frames, with double dowels and screws, provides the ideal foundation for the reinforced, full steel coil springing in the seat. It’s this superior combination that lets us give all our furniture a 25 year frame and spring guarantee. With the springing in place we then use superior modern materials, including high-resilience foam and felts, to produce the form of each style. Cushions are made from either luxurious, soft fibre or ultra- durable foam, for supportive but relaxing comfort.

All the covers of our furniture are fashioned and finished in our own sewing rooms, continuing a long tradition of expert seamstress skills to produce generous,

reinforced seams and luxurious fitted covers. Time-served upholsterers fit the covers to the padded frames, slowly and with great care to best present the pleats, curves

and ruched details that give Vale Bridgecraft furniture its distinctive appearance.

Our fabric collections include literally thousands of choices, many of them produced exclusively for us by carefully chosen, specialist fabric makers from around the world. We offer unique designs in hundreds of colourways, patterns, textures and finishes. Choose from traditional, classic or contemporary looks to ideally suit your home and personal taste. EFThe Spencer combines curvaceous modern styling with a supportive vented back for extra comfort. Turned wooden legs are available in a choice of colours. GoyaGoya is beautifully made with a contemporary elegance. Choose from three seater or two and a half seater sofas, tub chair, standard chair or for extra comfort, a loveseat. The standard chair is also available with a swivel base. Choose from either ‘Reflex’ foam seat cushions or Quallofil Supreme seat interiors that are supported by a full steel springing system - ensuring lasting comfort. The back cushions are made with Quallofil extra life fibre coupled with luxurious feather bolster cushions to give a sumptuous sit. Chrome feet are supplied as standard but wooden feet, in a choice of colours, are available upon request.

There are plenty of style options that can make your Tuscany sofa and chair uniquely yours, including the choice of classy and warm looking real oak, feature arm facings or upholstered facings in matching fabric. Relaxing support for the back and head is cleverly provided by the structure of the ample, Quallofil fibre, divided back cushions. More style options include a three seater sofa with either two or three cushion backs.

Designed for relaxing comfort and smart good looks.

The power recliner mechanisms available in all of Vale Bridgecraft recliners are ‘zero wall’ systems, allowing the recliners to be positioned very close to a wall, even when fully reclined. They are exceptionally smooth and have a quiet reclining operation, which is multi-positional and has an elevated footrest for better circulation and comfort. Specify either mains powered or battery powered chair, with a power pack, which allows total freedom when positioning the recliner, as it is free standing and does not require permanent connection to the mains electricity. The battery is recharged simply by plugging into the mains. A full charge of approximately 12 hours lasts for approximately one month with average use.

Our superb manual recliner is available in a number of our ranges.

With a wood effect handle, positioned comfortably within reach on the outside of the chair, the recliner can easily be activated into the television position. The chair can then be pushed into the fully reclined position by leaning backwards.

Caring for your furnitureVale Bridgecraft use only the finest materials and manufacture to the highest quality standards. The finished furniture will retain its appearance if it is treated with care.

Please comply with the following hints and tips to ensure product longevity:

• Ensureevenuseofthefurniturebyrotatingand turning all loose cushions and avoid sitting in the same places all the time. It may be necessary to adjust the seat cushion interiors from time to time if the fabric has rotated and is not fully aligned with the borders. Carefully undo the zip and adjust the foam interior accordingly.

• Thebackcushioninteriorsarefilledwithspeciallydevelopedfibre.Remove all loose cushions from your sofa, shake and plump up the fibre to retain its volume and density, replace the cushions smoothing the cushion cover.

• Gentlyvacuumcleanyourfurnitureasdustdepositscancausefabricwear and colour fading.

• Sharpobjectscanpullortearthefabricfibresandcausepermanentdamage.

• Excessiveexposuretodirectsunlightcancausecolourfading.

• Fabricswithapilecharacteristicmayshowashadingorcreasingeffect.This effect is also referred to as ‘watermarking’, ‘pooling’, ‘tracking’ or ‘pile pressure’, and is most noticeable on chenille and plain velvets. These areas of shading occur randomly and are irregular in shape and size. This is caused by the change in the angle of the pile and may be permanent. Whilst this may be accentuated by lighting or frequent use, it does not affect the quality or wear life of the fabric and is not a fault in manufacture.

Cleaning

• Adyeforupholsteryfabricsthatistotallyresistanttowetrubbinghasnot yet been developed. Therefore cleaning with soap or detergent and water should not be attempted. Damage will also be caused by water absorbing into the filling.

• Inthecaseofspillage,drythefabricbydabbingitwithanabsorbentclean dry cloth.

• Toremovespotsorstainsareliablecleaningfluidcanbeusedinaccordance with the makers instructions.

• AfterSalesTreatments:Weareunabletoacceptresponsibilityfor fabrics that are treated in any way other than in the original manufacturing process.

Additional lengths of fabric are available with a minimum order of one metre. Please order through your stockist.

Fabric samples are available on request. Please note that because there may be slight variation in batches of dyes when producing fabric, Vale Bridgecraft cannot guarantee an exact match to the sample requested.
