    Higher Education. Find out what parents and carers can do to prepare students and

    Can you drive to the sites?

    Unortunately parking is very limited at

    the accommodation sites so we advise

    you to walk i possible. Disabled spaces

    are available or blue badge holders.

    How will I know which rooms are open

    to view?

    Student ambassadors will be walking the

    routes throughout the day to make sure

    you dont get lost. Once at the sites, look

    out or the balloons and visit day signage

    which will direct you to the open rooms.

    What if I have questions that the

    students cant answer?

    Our students know what its like to live in

    the accommodation and should be able

    to answer many o your questions. I there

    is something specifc that you want to

    know, you can e-mail our Accommodation

    Team on [email protected].

    City of York Bus Tours meeting point

    As rom 1 January 2012 the

    Lord Mayors Walk campus is

    designated as a no-smoking

    zone. From 6.00pm each day,

    smoking will only be permitted

    in a designated smoking area

    outside the Students Union.

    our Fountains Learning Centre has been

    transormed during the summer o 2011.The three oors o the library have been

    modernised during this major 1.1 million

    investment project to enhance student

    learning, but the most signifcant changes

    have taken place on the ground oor.

    In addition, we are currently investing in

    more student accommodation and will

    be reurbishing and updating some o

    our sel-catering student accommodation

    sites to suit your needs.

    How to reach the UniversityAs part o our commitment to reducing

    our impact on the environment, we

    would encourage you to travel by public

    transport when you visit the University.

    Park and RideThere are extremely efcient park and

    ride services in operation across York

    seven days a week. The nearest park

    and ride drop-o point or York St John

    University is Museum Street which is on

    the Rawclie Bar Green Line. For more

    TrainLondon is approximately 2 hours away by

    train with Edinburgh just over 2.5 hours.

    It will take approximately 20 minutes

    to walk rom the train station to York St

    John. I you get a taxi, the journey will

    take 10 minutes (depending on trafc)

    and will cost about 7-8 (Jan 2012).

    Car ParkingUnortunately as we are a city centre

    campus there is no parking or visitors

    on site. There are a number o public car

    parks nearby - Monk Bar car park on St

    Johns Street (postcode YO31 7QR) and

    Union Terrace car park on Clarence Street

    (postcode YO31 7ES). Both are just aew minutes walk rom York St John. Car

    parking in York is expensive. Please make

    sure you have change or car parking. For
