01_Rogier van der Weydens „Portrait Of A Woman
With A Winged Bonnet“ (about 1435)
The painting on the title page needs to be seen in the ori-
ginal. It is one of the first images from this period in which
the painted person has direct eye contact with the viewer.
The clothing material can almost be touched in its material
quality. It hangs in the Berlin Portrait Gallery, which – in our
view – is always worth another visit.

Nivea, Persil, Tempo, Lamy, Landliebe, Loewe, WMF, Walter Knoll.
Another important award won by OBJECT CARPET: the company
is one of the „Brands of the Century“. We are very pleased to belong
to the chosen ones, since a brand is always something more than
only a product. A brand also epitomizes value of a company.
OBJECT CARPET: therefore finds itself in circles of brands such as
Adidas, BMW, Hansgrohe, Rimowa, Ritter Sport, Steiff, Sixt, Nivea,
Persil, Tempo, Lamy, Landliebe, Loewe, WMF, Walter Knoll.
03_Protect: Neues Einfassband für RUGX-Teppiche
aus äußerst strapazierfähigem Polyestergarn erweitert

Einfassoptionen. Besonders robust, widerstandsfähig
und einfach zu reinigen. Gibt Schmutz keine Chance.

Wohnbereiche geeignet.
03_Protect: New border tape for RUGX carpets

our individual selection of different edging options.
Particularly robust, durable and easy to clean. Gives dirt
no chance. For this reason, it is most suitable for high
traffic object and living areas.

begreifen. Damit Sie ein Gefühl dafür bekommen, was
wir unter Innovation bei textilen Bodenbelägen und
lebendiger Unternehmenskultur verstehen.
Unsere Welt wird immer komplexer, virtueller, weniger
greifbar.
Bildwelt entwickelt. Mit feinem Gespür für aktuelle
Design-Strömungen und besonderem Augenmerk auf
Raumwirkung. Ihr Credo „Alt und Neu in Beziehung
setzen“ nimmt auf unserer Titelseite besonderes
Format an.
Last but not least, möchten wir Ihnen Dinge vor-
Was Sie erwartet: exakt 1.200 Teppich-
Qualitäten mit dem ganz besonderen Feeling.
Live erleben! Betreten erwünscht.
What‘s new at OBJECT CARPET? Who are the people and
what do they stand for? What connects them to you and
OBJECT CARPET? We would like to inform you of this with
VISIONS at first hand on a regular basis. you are invited:
Get to know us better and grasp us in the truest sense of the
word. This can give you a feeling of what we understand by
innovation in textile floor coverings and lively company culture.
Our world is becoming increasingly complex, virtual and less
tangible. We therefore have the need for true encounters and
haptic experiences. For this reason, this edition of VISIONS is also
particularly concerned with a basic human need: touch. Because
without touch, we don‘t seem to be able to form a reference to
reality. It‘s good that carpets can be felt/touched/experienced.
Our new carpet development is a fluffy and soft semi-shag –
„SMOOZy“, which feels like it looks: supersoft. And thanks to its
extremely robust nature, it is even suitable for high traffic areas.
Our answer to the increasing need to design e.g. office environ-
ments as wellness worlds.
Natascha Sanwald, who has been responsible for OBJECT CARPET
photo conception for the last ten years – and has therefore strongly
influenced the brand image of OBJECT CARPET – has developed a
unique sensual visual world for SMOOZy. With a keen intuition for
current tendencies in design and a particular focus on the spatial
effect. Her motto „bring old and new together“ has a special
format on our title page.
With the keyword „brand image“, I am very happy that an institu-
tion such as Langenscheidt publishes us as „one of the brands
of the century“. At this point, I would like to give warm thanks to
everyone who has helped to form OBJECT CARPET since its found-
ation in 1972. And of course I would also like to thank our
customers, without whom this award would not be possible.
Last but not least, we would like to present some things to you
that inspire us – simply because we enjoy them and we are happy
to share them.
Does this appeal to you? Would you like to see and touch
everything? Our showrooms are open to you worldwide.
What you are looking for: exactly 1200 carpet qualities with
that special feeling.
Experience it live! Visitors are welcome.

Destined for challenging interior concepts and an unmistakable presence. An almost downy-
soft and slightly shimmering surface generates fascinating light reflection and emphasizes individuality
of SMOOZy. Differently from other super-soft semi-shags, SMOOZy not only offers suitability for
living, but also for high-traffic objects. For the manufacture, a particularly elaborate yarn with 1000
individual filaments was developed, as fine as silk and refined with outstanding functional proper-
ties. The best raw materials combined with an elaborate construction fulfil the greatest requirements
with regard to elegance, durability and ease of care. Thermal and acoustical insulation is improved
thanks to the remarkable pile height. Moreover, SMOOZy is provided with high-value OBJECT CARPET
BlackThermo®Felt Acoustics Plus backing that ensures maximum noise reduction and walking comfort
at the same time. SMOOZy is available as RUGX in 4 different bordering versions.
At www.object-carpet.com/configurator, you can configure individual RUGX carpets and visualise
them in various rooms.

Quellen der Inspiration: Fundstücke aus der Kunst und Natur
neben Werkzeug und haptischen Materialien. Für jede Foto-
inszenierung kreiert Natascha Sanwald vorab eine stimmige
Bild-Collage. Mit Liebe zum Detail und dem künstlerischen
Blick fürs Ganze. Das Resultat für SMOOZy können Sie auf
dem Titelbild und den vorhergehenden Seiten bewundern.
Sources of inspiration: Found items from art and nature
in addition to tools and haptic materials. For every staged

collage in advance. With attention to detail and the artistic
view of the overall picture. you can admire the results for
SMOOZy on the title image and the previous pages.
Was würdest du mir stilis-
tisch beim Einrichten einer neuen Wohnung empfehlen? ::
lich: Erlaubt ist, was gefällt.
Was findest du an deinem Beruf besonders spannend? ::
Meine letzte Frage: Was inspiriert dich im Augenblick? ::
auftaucht. Ob im Textilbereich Muster im 20er Jahre Stil oder neu
interpretiert im Möbeldesign.
If you visit Natascha Sanwald at her studio in Munich, you will
return to a material world. The place is teeming with ideas,
collages, props and materials pinned onto the wall, the sewing
machine next to the tool – a creative mix which immediately
captivates visitors. As an interior stylist, she works for international
lifestyle magazines, publishers and furnishing companies and has
influenced the OBJECT CARPET photo style – and therefore the
profile of the brand – for over ten years.
yvonne Huber, Marketing Director at OBJECT CARPET, met up
with her in Munich.
Natascha, as an interior stylist you have all of the current
furnishing trends in front of you. What would you recom-
mend to me stylistically when furnishing a new apartment? ::
It might seem too simple, but my motto is actually: If you like it,
it‘s allowed. I like the mix of old and new, elegant and casual,
design and curiosity. I find combining items depending on your
interest and mood exciting – both in my work and privately
in our apartment.
Perfect, then I can keep my favourite outdated sofa.
Do you also have an item that you wouldn‘t want to be
separated from? ::
I would definitely not want to be separated from my old industrial
lights, a French classic from Jieldé, which I bought about 10 years
ago. The lights even had a place of honour at OBJECT CARPET
when photo shooting the WEB FLEX-collection.
What you find particularly exciting in your career? ::
The collaboration and creative exchange with people who are
involved in a project together is a lot of fun for me. It‘s a real
privilege to get to know people in my job, who come from the
different areas: Designers, architects, businesspeople, from new-
comers to old hands. That keeps introducing you to new ideas.
This has also resulted in some opportunities to find new places
for photo shootings.
New projects, how do they start with you? ::
Actually, my projects always start with a pencil and paper. I design
a broad concept and start thinking about the task of the story,
which helps me to follow a thread through a series of photos.
It starts with the colour concepts, material collections and the
view to current furniture collections: like a collage.
The whole day high-calibre design, textiles, accessories
around you: hazardous for the wallet? ::
I‘m immune from most attempts. I have the luck to own the beauti-
ful things for a short time. But with old chairs and cosy covers,
I happily become weak. When I think about it, I started collecting
chairs a long time ago.
My last question: What inspires you at the moment? ::
Fresh back from the Milan Furniture Fair – and as a nostalgia fan –
I especially like that the retro theme is evident in so many.
Whether in the textile area of patterns in 20s style or reinterpreted
in furniture design.

In addition to a restaurant and lobby, the futuristic building has over

A particular challenge: the acoustics, which must be optimised in
