STRATEGIC AIMS

TE REO & TIKANGA MAORI

CULTURAL DIVERSITY

TE REO & TIKANGA MAORIWe recognise Te Reo Maori is unique to New Zealand and all reasonable steps are taken to provide instruction in tikanga Maori and te reo Maori for fulltime students whose parents request it. We also believe learning another language extends learners’ creative and critical literacies. Our Maori Implementation Plan scaffolds learning and is based on the ‘Te Reo Maori in NZ Curriculum Document.’

We celebrate cultural diversity and practice inclusivity. We recognise that our own demeanour and heritage will impact on interactions with children of all cultures.

CULTURAL DIVERSITY

SPECIAL EDUCATIONSPECIAL EDUCATIONStudents with special needs are supported in their learning so they can progress in relation to the New Zealand Curriculum and in relation to our Hukanui learning priorities.
