Visit 01 : Simhachalan Temple In morning post breakfast @08:30am, we will depart to visit Simhachalan Temple. Kulottunga Chola of Tamil Nadu, made endowments to this temple, as evidenced from inscriptions dating back to the year 1087. The Vengi Chalukyas of Andhra Pradesh renovated the original shrine in the 11th century. Much of the structure as it stands today is the result of renovation by NarasimhaI, of the Eastern Ganga dynasty, in the second quarter of the 13th century CE. Krishna Deva Raya, the Vijayanagar monarch visited this temple in the year 1516, as seen from inscriptions here. There are as many as 525 inscriptions in this temple.

Noteworthy features of the temple: This temple boasts of a beautiful stone chariot drawn by horses. The Kalyana Mandapa within the temple has 16 pillars with bas reliefs depicting the incarnations of Vishnu. Narasimha, the man lion incarnation of Vishnu is seen in several depictions throughout the temple.

Visit 02: Dolphin's Nose:- We will then head towards Dolphin's Nose at 09:45am, one of the natural wonders of the city as well as a sought-after tourist spot, has been named so because it resembles the nose of a dolphin. Some people even claim that a school of dolphins often visits the spot. The area houses the Sagar Mata temple and the 700-year-old Ishaq Medina Dargah. According to old timers, sailors who used to sail from Vizag would seek blessings at both the places.

Before the inner channel was constructed, there was a vast stretch of beach land connecting Vizag town to Dolphin's Nose. However, today if one were to reach the place by road, one would have to go on a roundabout route to reach the hill, pointed out history buff BS Mahesh. Today it is a restricted area and tourists are allowed on only certain stretches of the hill as the rest of it houses navy's quarters. After spending time there, we will head towards our final destination of the day.

Visit 03: Submarine Museum:-

Reach INS Kursura (S20) by 16:30pm, it was a Kalvari-class diesel-electric submarine of the Indian Navy.

She was India's fifth submarine. Kursurawas commissioned on 18 December 1969 and was

decommissioned on 27 February 2001 after 31 years of service. She participated in the Indo-Pakistani

War of 1971, where she played a key role in patrol missions. She later participated in naval exercises

with other nations and made many goodwill visits to other countries.

After decommissioning, she was preserved as a museum for public access on Ramakrishna Mission

Beach in Visakhapatnam. Kursura has the distinction of being one of the very few submarine museums to

retain originality and has been called a "must-visit destination" of Visakhapatnam. Despite being a

decommissioned submarine, she still receives the navy's "Dressing Ship" honour, which is usually

awarded only to active ships.
