Program

Australian Construction Training Services (ACTS) is endorsed by Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) as a TRA-Approved Registered Training Organisation (RTO), for both the Offshore Skills Assessment Program (OSAP) and the 457 Skills Assessment Program.

We conduct trade skills assessments so you can gain the Australian Level III trade Qualification and positive assessment outcome letter. We do not do recruitment, job placements or POEA-related tasks.

We are permanently based here in the Philippines and we can help you achieve a positive Skills Assessment outcome in Construction & Engineering related trades for suitable visas to enter Australia.

WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

Experienced persons wanting to work in Australia in the Construction and Engineering trades MUST first undergo a skills assessment through this program. Passing a skills assessment is now a MANDATORY requirement by the Australian Government Migration Department to work in the Construction and Engineering trades in Australia

The Skills Assessment matches your skills, knowledge and experience against the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) to see if they meet the criteria to be able to work in Australia. You will receive an Australian level III Trade Qualification if successful.

WHY YOU NEED US

ACTS handles Construction & Engineering related trades such as:

Bricklayer

Carpenter

Carpenter & Joiner

Joiner

Fitter General

Metal Fabricator

Metal Machinist

Sheetmetal worker

Toolmaker

Welder

plus many more

WHAT ARE THE TRADES?

At least 3 years in the relevant industry

You must have 12 of the last 36 months in full time (or part time equivalent) employment in the industry

You must be able to provide proof of your skills, knowledge and experience in the industry

WHAT ARE THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS?

There are 3 stages to the assessment:

Stage 1 DOCUMENT ASSESSMENT

We start the evidence assessment using all the documents you have supplied to us as part of our application documents

If there is sufficient evidence to prove your experience then we can move onto the technical assessment

HOW THE SKILLS ASSESSMENT IS DONE

Stage 2 TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT

The Technical Assessment is undertaken to gain a deeper insight as to the your competency for your chosen trade. The assessment itself is based on questioning techniques and discussions, that allow you to express your relevant competency. Throughout the Technical Assessment, questions on Australian Safety Standards and how they are used in the workplace will be included.

This is a face to face, either in person or via Skype at a pre-arranged time that suits both parties. On completion of the technical assessment, the decision will be made on whether you will be required to undertake a practical assessment

Stage 3 PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT

The Practical Demonstration of skills is used to gain further insight into your competency, by way of a demonstration of your skills, using appropriate tools and equipment. The task based activity is conducted in a dedicated training facility and all tools and equipment will be provided.

FINAL DECISION

Once all the documentary, technical and or practical evidence has been completed, then a moderation and compliance panel will determine the final outcome

You will then receive your formal certificate and outcome letter. You can now apply for your working visa using these approved documents

FEES

Each stage of the process has a fee and you only pay on a stage by stage basis as you progressStage 1 Document Assessment 32’240 Pesos

Stage 2 Technical Assessment 48’360 Pesos

If required

Stage 3 Practical Assessment 40’300 Pesos

Now you may not be required to do a practical assessment if the documentary and technical assessments satisfy the AQF requirements of suitable evidence under this program. Note that the minimum monthly salary in Australia is around 180’000 Pesos or 10 times more than the regular monthly salary in the Philippines (under a 457 sponsorship).

WHAT IS THE COST FOR ALL THESE?

You do not need to have previous qualifications or certificates to do the skills assessment

If you are unsure if you meet the requirements, you can call or email us any time and I will check your particular circumstances

We will work with you one on one throughout the whole process. We can do the skills technical from your house via Skype if required. We can also do the Practical assessment in your workplace if required

We are available for consultation anytime during office hours, just call or call in.
