part free of charge regardless of years or miles on the engine

• Based on high warranty rates, CARB can require amanufacturers to offer an extended warranty or recall ofthe defective part– Extended warranties require defective part replaced with an improved

part up typically up to the full useful life of the engine (e.g., 435K or 10years for a HHDE)
