The first example of virtual classroom predates to early 1960, whenthe University of Illinois initiated a classroom system based in linkedcomputer terminals where students could access informationalresources on a particular course while listening to the lectures thatwere recorded via some form of remotely device like television oraudio device.Now after almost five decades since its inception VC has its presencein mainstream education .Several Universities provide distancelearning programs via VC. There are various website sites providing e-learning via VC concept to the benefit of a large number of students. 4. Bridging the knowledge gap is the main vision of VC. Students poorand rich alike can access quality study materials from erudite facultiesacross the globe.VC will provides the platform for sharing a variety of information ,ideas across the web between faculties and students .The Student willbe able to access study materials of a wide range of subjects.It will bridge the demographic divide between students and facultiesalike. A student in aremote village of Africa can attend lectures of faculties ofStanford university via VC. 5. Our Project envisage to provide free e-learning opportunities tostudents of poor backgrounds giving them same quality education asthe students of premier institutes.Our project also encourages students to instill in them the quality of selfstudy while engaging with peers across the world sharing ideas andvarious study materials. 6. Features like video conferencing, live chat , live classeswill be incorporated.Efforts will be taken to attract erudite faculties toactively participate in this Virtual Classroom program.More and more students across the globe need toreached out with better networks and also made cheaplyavailable for access. 11. Todays world is driven by innovation .Similarly more and moreinnovation can be expected in the field of VC. More new features like 3dimaging, hangouts of multiple users can be incorporated into the VirtualClassroom environment.Steps need to be taken that more and more students of theunderdeveloped world be brought into the virtual classroom programs byproviding them with better access to internet at cheaper rates.The participation of more and more faculties of various prestigiousuniversities is also welcomed so that students gets access to high qualitystudy materials and be benefited from their lectures. 12.
