a) President, Richard Tan Swee Heng, on MPA participation on Asia Pallet System

Federation (APSF) 15th General Assembly Meeting, Yangon, Myanmar was postpone to

next year due to Covid-19 pandemic.

b) Secretary General, Loong Kam Shing, on annual activities of the Association and

membership updates (01.06.2019 - 31.05.2020).

c) Secretary General, Loong Kam Shing on Logisware 2020, due to Covid-19 pandemic, the

Logisware event from Wednesday to Friday on 26.08.2020 to 28.08.2020 will be

postpone to 16.09.2021 to 18.09.2021, Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC), Shah Alam.

d) Treasurer, Vincent Boo Weng Seng, on tabling and confirmation of the audited financial

statement for the year ended 31.12.2019 plus the financial report for the period to date

as at 31.05.2020.

4. To elect the Auditor for the year ending 31.12.2020.

5. To propose that approval be given that the committee service term be authorised to serve for

a period of 3 consecutive years from election as long as he remains a member and the

Constitution be amended accordingly and make an application for the said amendment from

eRose in due course.

1. Speech by President 1.1 Richard Tan, President of Malaysia Pallet Association (MPA) welcome all delegates to the

8th Annual General Meeting. And he also welcomed the new member Mr Alvin Soh from

Big Wood Pallet Industries Sdn Bhd who joined MPA during the year of 2019.

1.2 The President express his gratitude to Mr Eric Yap, Legal Advisor to MPA, Mr Heng, the

Honorary Auditor and Dato’ Andrew Goh, Advisor to MPA, for providing their utmost

assistance on matters pertaining to the Association.

2. Confirmation of minutes of the 7th

Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 29th

June

2018

2.1 The minutes of the 7th

AGM had been circulated to all delegates. Proposed by Mr Mohamed

Razeef bin Rahimana of Radiant Heat Treatment Services Sdn Bhd and seconded by Mr

Cheah Poh Leong of Song & Huat Products Sdn Bhd, the said minutes of the 7th AGM held

on 29th June, 2018 was approved.

3. Report of Council by President on MPA Participation on Asia Pallet System

Federation (APSF) 14th

General Assembly Meeting, Tokyo, Japan. 3.1 President Richard Tan give thanks to a total of 12 members representative from MPA who

attended the Asia Pallet System Federation (APSF) 14th General Assembly Meeting in

Tokyo, Japan on May 2019.

3.2 This is MPA’s 3rd

APSF participation in Japan and other delegate members are from

Thailand, Philippines, Myanmar, China and Korea. MPA sponsored RM1,000 per member

from each company during this year participation. MPA shall target 30 members for the

upcoming 15th APSF meeting which will be held in Yangon, Myanmar in 2020. The next

year MPA sponsor amount will be discuss in next Management Committee Meeting.

4. Reports on annual activities of the Association (1st June 2018 – 31

st May 2019)

4.1 The meeting noted the report sent together with the Annual Report and the Secretary read

aloud all the activities held by the MPA at the meeting.

4.2 The Secretary informed that, the Association will organize more Government / Institution

visits and seminars related to the industry and its activities for the members’ benefit.

4.3 The Secretary encourages MPA members to represent MPA by participating in exhibitions

in Malaysia and overseas to gain more knowledge and experience on ways to improve our

industry in Malaysia.

5. Logisware 2019, on 31.07.19 to 02.08.19 (Wednesday to Friday) at Setia City

Convention Centre 2 (SCCC), Shah Alam

5.1 The Secretary encourages all MPA members to visit MPA booth in the upcoming

Logisware exhibition. The meeting noted that MPA had been invited by One International

Exhibition Sdn Bhd for the 3rd

time to participate in the exhibition with a space of 9 meter

square, free of charge. MPA aims to create awareness and conduct membership drive to the

public and press media.

6. Tabling and confirmation of the audited financial statement from 01.01.2018 to

31.12.2018

6.1 The audited financial statement for the year ended 31.12.2018 have been circulated to all

members. The Treasurer, Mr Vincent Boo Weng Seng have explained the audited financial

statement accordingly. Mr Vincent Boo Weng Seng has proposed that the said audited

financial statements be approved, confirmed and adopted and was seconded by Mr Saw Eng

Thai, Sim Lee Sawmill Sdn Bhd. The said audited financial statements were voted and

unanimously approved by all the members at the meeting.

7. Reports on Memberships 7.1 The Secretary referred and the meeting noted the full Members List as at 31.12.2018 as per

Annexure 2 in the Annual Report.

8. Retirement of the committee members 2017-2018 and to elect 20 committee members

for the new term from 2019 to 2020

8.3 The meeting noted that all the committee members elected will have the next management

committee meeting within 30 days to elect the office bearers to hold the MPA for another 2-

year term of service and contribution.

9. Appointment of Honorary Auditors 9.1 President Richard Tan proposed the appointment of Mr Heng Chiang Pooh and Mr

Raymond Lee Swee Loong of Messrs Aziz Tahir & Co., Chartered Accountant as Honorary

Auditor, to audit the statement of income and expenditure by for the year ending

31.12.2019. This was seconded by Mr Saw Eng Thai.

9.2 President Richard Tan expressed MPA’s appreciation towards Honorary Auditors, Mr Heng

and Mr Raymond Lee, for auditing the MPA’s account on a voluntarily basis without

charges.

9.3 President Richard Tan also expressed the MPA’s appreciation towards Honorary Lawyer

Mr Eric Yap and Ms Khoo, for voluntarily giving legal advice services to all members and

MPA.

10. To propose that approval be given that the committee service term be authorized to

serve for a period of 3 consecutive years from election

10.1 This meeting noted that as long as the elected committee member remains a member and the

Constitution be amended accordingly, the Secretary may make an application for the said

amendment to be approved by the Registrar of Societies via eRoses in due course.

10.2 The Management Committee is hereby authorised to organize the proposed amendment

accordingly and the Secretary be authorised to issue the notice of general meeting in due

course.

11. To authorize the Secretary to organize the MPA 3rd

Biannual Dinner with the theme

“K-POP Party Night” 11.2 The 3

rd Biannual dinner gathering shall be held at Unique Seafood Restaurant, Bercham,

Ipoh, Perak, on Saturday 19.10.2019 with the theme K-POP Party Night. The event shall

commence with cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and followed with dinner being

served with various events till 10:30 p.m.

11.3 President Richard Tan said this objective of the 3rd

Biannual Dinner is to further strengthen

the fellowship bonding among all members and for all members enjoy the party during the

dinner. There will be no request for donation from the members.

12. Other matters 12.1 President Richard Tan presented 3 recycle pinewood souvenir box as a token of

appreciation to Dato’ Andrew Goh as Advisor of MPA, Mr Eric Yap, lawyer of MPA and

Mr Heng, as auditor of MPA. This special designed recycle pinewood souvenir box is made

by Mr Vincent Ooi.

12.2 The Secretary informed that Korea Pallet Containers Association (KPCA) will be planning

to have PalleTech Conference 2019 on Thursday, 22.08.2019 at Pullman Kuala Lumpur.

KPCA will have 40 representatives from Korea and Malaysia is allocated 60 reserve seats

for the event, which included participants invited from various government related agencies

such as MITI, MIDA, MATRADE, etc and KPCA also invited NGO like FMM, Malaysia

Retail Chain Association, Logistics Association and others.

12.3 Dato’ Andrew Goh expressed his appreciation to President and MPA members for

participation in overseas visit in its efforts to promote the presence of MPA in Asean as well

as globally.

12.4 The meeting noted that the Secretary, Mr Loong had made special arrangements and

allocate two speakers for this 8th AGM and they were Mr Lee Chin Hong from Treasure

Wealth Journey Sdn Bhd and Encik Abdullah Fauzi Samsudin from Department of

Agriculture.

12.5 Secretary inform members that UPR from Japan was looking for warehouse distribution

center in Ipoh, Perak. And JPR from Japan had indicated keen interest to venture in

Malaysia market soon.

12.6 President Richard Tan said MPA will cooperate with DOA in the effort to improve

competency of the Operator for Heat Treatment Chamber in the Pallet industry.

13. Closure of Meeting 13.1 The meeting ended at 5:30 p.m. with a vote of thanks to the President and all attendees.
