• She died near Lewes England.
Virginia Woolf
• Her parents were Sir Leslie Stephen and Julia Prinsep Duckworth
• Both of her parents were widows, so when they were married they brought kids from their earlier marriage into the family.
• Her mother died suddenly in 1895 from influenza when Virginia was 13, causing her several nervous breakdowns.
• When her father died in 1904 it caused her most allarming collapse and she was briefly institutionalised.

• In 1912 she married Leonard Woolf (some say that the marriage was never consummated)
• In 1922 Virginia Woolf met and fell in love with Vita Sackville-West and they soon began an affair.
• Although the affair ended the two women remained close friends.

• Virginia Woolf died on March 28, 1941.
• She drowned herself by putting stones in her pockets and walking into the River Ouse.
• She left her husband a note saying that she was going mad again and couldn’t live through it.

• She first started writing for the Times Sliteratry Supplement in 1905.
• Her first novel was The Voyage Out, published in 1915
• She wrote nine novels, including The Light House and The Waves
• She also wrote many short fiction and non-fiction pieces.
