My favorite time of the year is here! The changing of the seasons. The beautiful fall foli-age. Pumpkins and turkey and Christmas oh my!

Everyone will be bustling about, planning for upcoming Thanksgiving dinners, finding that perfect gift on your loved one’s lists, getting together with loved ones, and so much more.

November’s featured ingredient of the month is RoyalEpigen P5, skin rejuvenation through epige-netic science.

RoyalEpigen P5 is a new and biologically-active peptide that helps optimize skin renewal and glow. Inspired by epigenetic sci-ence, this peptide mimics royal jelly to maximize its positive ef-fects on the skin.

Honeybee workers and queens greatly differ in appearance, lon-gevity and behavior despite the fact that they share exactly the same DNA. In 2011, Japanese sci-entists discovered that honeybees modify their genetic code by con-suming royal jelly. Indeed, a pro-tein of this peculiar juice was shown to be able to modify gene expression in honeybees without changing the DNA sequence, a biological process called epigenet-ics. This protein was named royalactin (“queenmaker”) as it determined the fate of the honey-bee.

Due to the fact that royalactin is unstable and too large to penetrate the skin, Mibelle Biochemistry has developed a peptide that copies its active sequence. For improved skin uptake, the peptide was incorpo-rated into a soft sphere carrier sys-tem based on shea butter.

In clinical studies, RoyalEpigen P5 helps optimize skin renewal, which led to a rapid increase in skin smoothness. In addition to this, when applied on the face of women presenting uneven skin tones, this royalactin-like peptide improved the appearance of skin uniformity of their complexions within just 28 days.

The possibility of generating different organisms starting from the same genome depends on a recently discovered biological process called epigenetics.

Royalactin interacts with the epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor and other signaling pathways leading to epigenetic effects.
