Moved to Moscow in 1918 with his family
Attended the Scriabin Musical Institute in Moscow
He took piano and general music lessons

Inspiration
Developed the Union of Soviet Composers
Composed music that reflected political and social aspects, such as the revolution
Dedicated his pieces to the Soviet youth
Composed music for young children
Wrote lively and energetic melodies for joyful children to play
Third Symphony was composed on the 10th
anniversary of Lenin’s death. Titled, “Requiem”
