Statement of Purpose of the Portfolio
The practice teaching portfolio was prepared and developed to provide and share experiences for
those who will undergo the same undertakings. The greatest value of this practice teaching portfolio is
that it serves as the mirror of the practice teacher for their progress and achievement in their practice
teaching. And also this practice teaching portfolio was prepared to expose the pre-service teacher
experiences so that they can use it in relating their theories learned inside the classroom to become
globally competitive.
Another purpose of this practice teaching portfolio is that it assess the pre-service teachers
learning for the preparation in future life in facing the real world of teaching. The pre-service teacher
must do always their best in imparting knowledge to the students. Just love your students so in return
your students will be embracing you too, with the great thing youve done to them not only in cognitive
side but in affective and psychomotor development.
-
Prayer of Pre-service teachers
Help me to be a fine teacher, to keep peace in the classroom,
peace between my students and myself, to be kind and gentle
to each and every one of my students.
Help me to be merciful to my students, to balance mercy and
discipline in the right measure for each student, to give genuine praise as
much as possible, to give constructive criticism in a manner
that is palatable to my students.
Help me remain conscientious enough to keep my lessons
always interesting, to recognize what motivates each students,
to accept my students limitations and not hold it
against them.
Help me not to judge my students too harshly, to be fair to all,
to be a good role model, but most of all Lord, help me to show
your love to all my students.
Amen.
Teacher's creed
I am a teacher. I accept the challenge to be sagacious and tenacious in teaching every student, because I believe
every student can learn.
I accept the responsibility to create a learning environment conducive to optimum achievement academically,
socially, and emotionally.
I actively pursue excellence for my students and myself.
I provide a model of decorum and respect that guides my students as well as honors them.
I affirm superlative expectations for my students and myself.
I cherish every student.
I am a teacher. I change the world one student at a time.

Personal Education Philosophy
The philosophy is that people must believe in something. According to Dewey, education is by its nature an
endless circle spiral. It is an activity, which includes science, because in its process, it raises problems to be studied which
then reacts upon demanding more through, more science in an everlasting sequence.
This definition of education makes it imperative to a person to have a philosophy of education and beliefs in the
function of teaching.
A teacher should believe in the intended processes and activities to produce desirable changes in the behavior
of students. We must believe in the capacity to effect these changes, promote and facilitate these changes through the
mastery of the subject matter and the use of appropriate methods and techniques of teaching.
A teacher also functions as manipulator of teaching learning situations. As a manipulator, you must believe in
your ability to create a series of operations directed to change specific behavior. These are just parts of a teachers
educational philosophy.
As a student teacher, you must believe in something that will eventually help you in setting the goal of your life.
This will focus on the values and objectives of the new social order; the will help the teacher in analyzing and organizing
her objectives; crystallizing the thoughts that will serve as a guide to prevent a teacher from getting lost their maze of
your many-faceted chores. The school occupies premier place in the construction of the society, particularly in the
matter of changing the attitudes towards community. The role of teacher plays will be a crystallizer and an evaluator of
the educational program under the democratic society.

IV. Personal Insights on the pre-service training
experience
Education is a life-long process of learning and to become an efficient and effective the strategies, tactics and
teaching styles that best suit him/her.
It is the time of trial and error and for growing confidence and beginning expertise. It is not a time of perfection
but of striving for competence. Through student teaching, a process whereby a potential teachers confirms to
himself/herself and others that he/she as the resourcefulness to survive with educator, you must first understand the
value of continuous learning because this would be the teachers tool in molding individuals into better and more
competitive one.
The first major step in moving from amateur status toward gaining competencies that mark the real professional
is the student teaching opportunities to the educational theories and methods into practice.
Student teaching is the first and foremost a learning situation. This is the craft before he/she has to put his/her
skills on the lime in his/her own classroom. This is the student teachers chance to learn from his mistakes without
causing harm to his/her students. This is for him/her to find out an actual teaching situation, the prospect teacher gain
more experiences that would serve as their credential in their path.
As we all know, teaching is a noble profession. It requires a long preparation and more training sessions for
them to be equipped in facing the real environment that awaits them in near future.
Student teaching serves as an internship in the profession education where theories, knowledge, attitudes and
skills develop through course work and observation are fused into more meaningful interpretation through practical
experience in actual teaching situation.

San Jose National High School
MISSION
San Jose National High School aims to provide a quality
education for the students holistic development enhanced
by well competitive, committed teachers and effective
administrators.
VISION

excellence producing nationalistic,
globally competitive and productive citizens.

HISTORY OF SAN JOSE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
In the beginning, the idea of having a secondary public school in San Jose County was just a vision, a dream. Today, it has
become a reality, envisioned to become a vehicle in the improvement of the quality of life of the Montalbeos.
San Jose National High School formerly Gen. Licerio Geronimo Memorial Natl High School San Jose Annex was
established last June 2002 through the joint efforts of Mayor Pedro S. Cuerpo, Councilor Jimleth B. Dulla and Mr. Leoncio
L. Gervacio, Principal of Gen. L. Geronimo Mem. Natl High School.
In the first year of operation, the school offered first year secondary level from the residents of Brgy. San Jose,
Brgy. Manggahan, Brgy. Rosario and even from nearby barangay in Quezon City like Brgy. Payatas. The first batch was
composed of 423 students. In the year 2002-2003, the students and faculty members are housed in the eight rooms of
the Macros Type Building of the San Jose Elementary School. The founding teacher-in-charge was Mrs. Ma. Theresa
Omandam and the first batch of teachers were Mrs. Mary Jane Macagaling, Ms. Love Victorio, Mrs. Criselda Evangelista,
Ms. Jhona Orilla, Ms. Marycel Jacobe, Mrs. Rosario Ayuson, Mrs. Evangeline Masilang, Mrs. Armi Cruz, Ms. Armida
Castro, Mr. Victor Cayetano and Mr. Allan Agban.
The pioneers stared without armchairs, blackboards and other instructional materials and facilities. After a year,
there were issues of school demolition and the school will not be given its own site. Then, our beloved Mayor Pedro S.
Cuerpo worked hard to secure permission for its legal establishment, form the Department of Education and with added
insistent requests and follow-ups it remains in its site until today.
The first Ynares Building composed of six rooms was donated and funded by Rizal Provincial Government. In
October 14, 2003, Gov. Rebecca Nini Ynares together with Mrs. Zenaida Palileo led the ceremonial ribbon cutting tot
inaugurate this building. In less than a year, another building was established consisting eight rooms. This was under the
sponsorship of the Province of Rizal thru Gov. Casimiro Ito Ynares; it was blessed during the time of Mrs. Elvira Q.
Pahati on Nov. 4, 2004.
In June 17, 2005, San Jose National High School was given autonomy and now an independent public secondary
school through the initiative and efforts of its persistent school principal, Mrs. Elvira Q. Pahati. From then on, this has
been one of the competitive secondary schools in terms of academic and sports.
