Northbrook

Greetings fellow Republican Women, As some of you might know, one of the community projects VRW participates in is the newly founded Northbrook HS PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association). Many of the parents of the students at this school work, sometimes several jobs, and find it difficult to join volunteer groups that are key to any campus's success. For this reason, VRW wanted to support and supplement parent participation with our membership. Recently, the opportunity to participate in the PTSA by thanking Northbrook HS teachers presented itself in the form of a Christmas Teacher Appreciation Dessert Day which Buffie Ingersoll was instrumental in setting up. The event was a big success! Over 100 teachers and key staffers were invited to attend, and many of our members baked for days in preparation. We had a great turn out and lots of wonderful treats for the extremely appreciative teachers. Several of our members participated as hostesses for the event and had an opportunity to see what a wonderful campus Northbrook truly is. A little help goes a long way! To see what else these dynamic teens have been up to, click on the link below…it will warm your heart and leave you with a little pep in your step! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hHqVcaZOEU For more information on how you can help at Northbrook HS, please contact Lauren Taylor 713-447-9333.
