No Soliciting Program in Oakwood
2019 Broadway Avenue Reconstruction ProjectThe $1.1 Million Broadway Avenue Reconstruction Project has been awarded to Oakwood Village by theState of Ohio. We will be responsible for only $315,000 of the total project cost. The project extends fromBroadway/Fair Oaks Road (at I-271) to about 400 ft past the Tryon/Macedonia Road intersection. Thework will include:
Removing 3” of the existing asphalt to improve the structural integrity of the concrete base. Curbs, catchbasins & storm sewers will also be repaired or replaced as required.
Existing traffic signals at the Broadway intersections with Wendy’s & at the Hampton Inn/HawthorneValley shopping center will be upgraded.
Existing sidewalks next to the curb will be replaced with a 6 ft wide asphalt trail separated by 5 ft fromthe street pavement.
_This project is expected to begin by September 2019 and will take about 12 weeks to complete_
Oakwood Codified Ordinance Sec. 751.03 prohibits persons from canvassing or soliciting onproperty where a "No Soliciting" sign has been posted. Starting Monday July 8th if you are tired ofUNWANTED door-to-door peddlers, solicitors or canvassers, you can obtain at NO COST a "NoSoliciting" sign to display on a window close to your entrance at the Mayor’s office that complieswith this Ordinance.

Kokosing Construction has started filling/grading operations at the Premier Development site locatedoff Macedonia Road. Construction workers are using the above pathway off Interstate 271 totemporarily enter the site in order to expedite the filling/grading process and to maintain publicsafety for motorists that use Alexander or Macedonia Roads.
The Ohio EPA has been confirming the satisfactory removal of contaminated material from the former Berger scrap yard on Broadway Avenue. Site work will resume shortly. _Dunkin expects _to be operating by late Fall.
