It was just one week at the village hall, I thought I had time to do it all. On Monday I started by stretching my horizons at Art Appreciation and my tendons at Zumba, then learned to rhumba, bought a chocolate cake, went to Tantric Yoga, by mistake. Tuesday I helped stack chairs, and the deck at bridge, arranged some flowers, showed my rabbit, kept a bee, crafted some sugar, shared some tea, saw a Doctor, gave some blood, attended a talk on preventing a flood. By Wednesday, I’d helped write a play and a new plan for the village, went to bums and tums passed Dads and Mums taking their little ones to yogic youngsters and rugby tots, learned to play the mandolin, then how to throw a javelin and some pots. I ate Thursday’s tea off one I’d made, then saw theatre by satellite, laughed all night with the W.I, made an apple pie and another new friend on Friday we went to tai chi, taekwondo and karate threw some shapes at a birthday party took part in short mat bowling, saw an amazing play doing rural touring. On Saturday I won a whist drive, discovered I’ve never felt more alive and three new relatives at Family History, helped plan the community’s future. In first aid class, I learned to suture also that by now I needed a rest, so on Sunday I went to a class in mindfulness, then Horticulture Club to ask why my wisteria’s wilting, had a nap under a blanket I made at quilting, after a relaxation session I was doing fine, Village Halls Week? you’ll need a lifetime.
