Letter from
Head of School,
Margo O’Neill
Dear Parents,
A terrific time was had by all who attended the auc-
tion this year. In addition to being a fundraiser, this
event is really such a nice community building
event. We would love to get your feedback on the
auction, so if you have not already done so, please
complete using survey link:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/villaauction.
We would appreciate your input.
I would like to acknowledge Sue Watson who is re-
tiring after this year’s amazing auction. Sue has
been a Villa icon for many years. She has helped
raise hundreds of thousands of dollars through vari-
ous fundraising events, including the annual auc-
tion, the tax credit campaign and Helping Hands.
Sue, the entire school cannot thank you enough for
all you have done over the years.
In addition, I would like to acknowledge Kristi Lock-
wood — 2016 Parent of the Year. Kristi, your amaz-
ing support and generous contribution of time and
energy make you the perfect recipient of this years
Parent of the Year award. Your dedication as a
classroom coordinator, Villa capital campaign cabi-
net member, and new elected president of the Villa
PTO is astounding. Thank you for all that you do
each and every day.
Kristi represents the MANY parent volunteers that
work tirelessly to make this school a great place to
be. My gratitude and love goes out to you all.

PTO UPDATE
The Villa PTO had to say goodbye to Nicole Newhouse this year. Nicole started the PTO last
year and held the position of president. She has had to resign due to work commitments. The
PTO was fortunate to have her leadership and energy in making significant contributions to
Villa. She will be missed. Kristi Lockwood has accepted the role as President, and Sara Uribe
has accepted the role of Teacher Appreciation Chairperson (vacated by Kristi).
We have also said goodbye to our Vice President, Jen Huberty. She will be missed as well, but
will continue to support the school by volunteering as a class coordinator on the Primary cam-
pus.
PTO Parent volunteers are a critical part of the Villa Family, as many activities and events rely
on the contributions of the PTO. We look forward to the next school year and continuing our
support of Villa, but we need your help! Whether you're looking to help with a one-time
event, or want an all-year commitment; wanting to do something from the comfort of your
own home, or something at the school -- we have the job for you.
The PTO has many volunteer roles to fill, and we will be sending out detailed job descriptions
in the next few weeks. Please consider becoming a part of the Villa PTO and help us continue
to support the school!
MOVIE NIGHT AND MIDDLE SCHOOL GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY — Please join us for a
fun evening to celebrate the new Middle School construction and enjoy a fun family evening.
There will be a limited number of snacks for sale — we encourage you to bring a picnic style
dinner to enjoy under the stars with us!
JUMP CITY— The last day of school is Wednesday, May 25th. This is a
half day for everyone. Please join us at Jump City at 12pm for jump
and play together before summer starts. (Jump City: 3921 E. Indian
School Road). The arranged cost is 11 dollars per child—to jump for 2
hours.
Many volunteer opportunities will be available for the upcoming school year. We will be send-
ing out information about ways to get involved with the PTO and other school events soon. As
always, thank you for being supportive of our teachers, administrators and school.
Thank you!

Because vision development occurs from birth to age 6, it is now extremely im-portant for children to have their initial eye exams at age six months or ½
years old by a qualified optometrist (www.infantsee.org).
Understanding that this is not common knowledge for most parents, Healthy Eye Care is proud to offer the first initial eye exams in our state of the art facility for any child under 1 years old as a complementary public service, and any child
ages 1-6 for $50 (dilation included, normally $150).
If you know that your child is overdue for this initial health evaluation by an optometrist please call us at 480-887-8778.
*Please Understand: if your child can see, this does not mean they are not
straining to do so. This can only be determined by a qualified Optometrist.
