We are a nurturing and open church to all who enter into our Sanctuary.

We base our ministry on the Word of God and a caring spirit. Jesus

invites us to share our ministry to all that come into our church.

“To make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the

Transformation of the World”

“AHA: The God Moment That Changes Everything”

We’ve all had them. Those moments when a light bulb seems to turn on in our minds as our eyes are opened to a sudden revela-tion. An AHA moment. A great awakening. Well, that’s what the book AHA by Kyle Idleman is all about. In his book, he utilizes the parables of Jesus and a wide variety of examples and real-life tes-timonies to exhibit what a true AHA moment might look like. Then he points out that, in order for these AHA moments to be benefi-cial, one must pay heed to them, fess up to them, and respond–a process that Idleman puts into this acronym:

Awakening. The instant when that light bulb flickers on. Honesty. The acknowledgment that something needs to be

done. Action. The step to initiate change

AHA moments are one of God’s many ways of speaking to us. Idleman’s top example of a great AHA moment uses the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). The prodigal son’s AHA moment came to him after he had spent his inheritance and was forced to work amid the pigs in their slop. It donned upon him that the pigs enjoyed a far better lifestyle than he currently did–that he had traded both the luxury and bountifulness of living in his father’s house for what eventually lead to this. But, rather than continue in his ways and be bitter and miserable, he chose to face the reality of his unwise decisions, then proceeded to take action by returning to his father and asking for a position as a lowly servant (which would be a HUGE step up from hanging out with pigs).

Through his luring, easy-to-understand, yet straightforward writing style, Idleman illustrates that the AHA moments that God brings into our lives are done so with great mercy and love. They are our chances to evade future mistakes before we make them, before they hurt us and/or our loved ones. They are our chances to choose what is right for ourselves, the ones we love, and for serving God. They are our moments to use in order to shine a little light in the dark world.

Turn in your Acts of Kindness sheets to Harriet or just let her know if you participated and how many acts of kindness you performed. Can’t wait to see the number of ways in which Trinity made a difference in someone’s life. If you want to list your acts of kindness you can, but it is not necessary. God thanks you for participating!
