Candidate must have a passion for excellent dentistry, exceptional clinical treatment ethics, enthusiasm for continuing education and a dedicated work ethic.

GENERAL PRACTICE HISTORY AND DESCRIPTION

This established general dentistry practice was purchased in 1983 and was located in Andrews, NC which is about 7 miles from its present location in Marble, NC. Presently it is located directly on the main four lane road that transverses the county from east to west and is 6 miles east of Murphy, NC which is the county seat (see included description of Cherokee County). The new facility in Marble was built in 2005 and the practice was re-located as the old building was no longer adequate from a functional or aesthetic perspective. The new location has outstanding visibility and traffic count (13,000) with ample parking and convenience to homes and workplaces. Many of our new patients come to our practice as a result of seeing us from the road. Carolina Smiles is a progressive practice with attractive furnishing, decor and landscaping. The equipment is up to date and includes Carestream digital sensors, digital panorex and intraoral cameras, Softdent software with digital patient charts (not totally paperless yet), computers in all operatories and workstations and electric handpieces in the doctor's operatories. Most general dentistry procedures are included in our treatment protocol with the exception of orthodontics. Other areas where practice growth potential exists include Endodontic and Pedodontic procedures, as many of these procedures are referred also. Common procedures include oral sedation, extractions, soft and hard tissue augmentations, collection of bioactivators (PRP/PRF) and implant placement with restoration.

Many of our patients are baby boomers who are retired. Cherokee County is a second home market for retires from all over the United States with a large Percentage from Florida who own homes in the mountains and arrive in the spring and summer to escape the heat, crowds and humidity. They usually arrive around March / April and return to Florida in November / December. We also serve many local residents who live and work in Cherokee, Graham and Clay counties. This group ranges in age from pediatric to elderly with many young to middle age working families. Pediatric patients are the least seen group at Carolina Smiles and this area could be an opportunity for future growth. Socio-economic levels and dental IQ vary widely, with some patients desiring only basic services such as extractions and others opting for higher level procedures including implants and full mouth rehabilitation.
