The City Council and Wildscapes Sheffield have worked with local residents to develop a plan to plant 10 large parkland trees and a small orchard of 30 fruit trees in Bole Hills Rec. These trees will provide fruit for local residents & dramatically improve and enhance the local environment. They will absorb noise and pollution, filtering dust, producing oxygen and bringing birds and wildlife into the park. We realise that in order to provide maximum benefit the local community should be involved in choosing tree species and locations. Some local residents have suggested that a Friends group would facilitate continued improvements on the Rec and help make best use of the orchard.

If you are interested in contributing to the planting plan or in getting involved in any other improvements to the Rec please come along to this meeting.
