Learning Activity week 20. Put thought into your design. Design a 5-page website or blog to promote your hometown (or any other place if you so choose). Present your design along with a strategy that explains the decisions you’ve made during the design process (keep the six steps mentioned in the lesson Web Design Process: Designing for Web (part 2) in mind). Remember, it’s important for us to see how you think, so explain why you decided to do things the way you did. This is a front-end design learning activity. No coding or publishing is needed. Please upload this activity to your WordPress blog along with a Word document or PDF explaining your strategy. We were to follow this list: 1: Goals: The Goal is to make people visit Vollen and get to know this small beautiful place. 2. Audience: The main audience is boat people. People who can visit in their own boats or people who can take the shuttle boat. Vollen is a small local place and lies in the Oslofjord. There are many places by the Oslofjord you can visit, but this page is to get people to select Vollen as their destination. 3. Brand Image: Vollen is a beautiful and idyllic place. Summer is just as nice as Winter. In the summer people visit the marina and the food places. The beaches here are also very popular. In the winter it’s a cosy place to visit one of the coffee shops to buy a cup of warm coffee or cacao. The stores in Vollen are open every Sunday witch is nice after a trip around the old houses. Vollen is all about nature and the old cosy houses. Its important to show this in the website.

We were to follow this list:

1: Goals: The Goal is to make people visit Vollen and get to know this small beautiful place.

4. Solve the problem: By using a lot of calm colours and nature pictures I will reach out to the right people who can visit and get to know Vollen. The site should focus on the time of the year. In summer the pictures has to involve the beaches, boats, and great outdoor opportunities. In the winter it should focus on this cosy “winter wonderland” town. There are small nice shops, and you have the local bakery, and it’s easy to access by car, bus or boat.

5. Measure your results: I think it would be best to make a market research, to see who visits Vollen, why they visit, what time of year they visit, hwo don’t visit, who has never heard about Vollen. This will mainly be boat people or people who pas Vollen on their way home from work.

6. Look for improvements: If I was to make a improvement in the site I have made for Vollen, I would make a six page site. Our assignment said a 5.page site, so I kept to the assignment. But I would really like to make one more page about the history. It’s a lot of interesting history around Vollen. I think this is something people would read about.
