Advance notice of trade fair

Create the FUTURE together with us –Gretsch-Unitas at security 2012

Under the motto Create the FUTURE together with us, the Gretsch-Unitas Group and its traditional quality brand BKS will be presenting an extensive spectrum of system solutions for escape door security, mechanical and mechatronic locking systems, concepts for modern house entrance doors and individual door engineering for planners and architects. The wide range of focal areas at this year's security trade fair in Essen will be rounded off by comprehensive services for shops specialising in security.

In Hall 10, Booth 407, the Gretsch-Unitas Group will be presenting planners, architects, security specialists and security officers from industry and public facilities with the complete service range of a modern system supplier.

These are the areas the Gretsch-Unitas Group will be focusing on:

BKS opens up new possibilities for escape door security – unique escape door packages reduce the number of system components (image 1)With innovative escape door modules from the traditional BKS brand, the GU Group once more demonstrates its skill and market leadership in the field of locking technology and locks.

Thanks to the new door concepts EVT (electrically locking touch bar) and EVP (electrically locking panic lock), personal safety in the event of an emergency and maximum security for material assets are no longer mutually exclusive. The EVT solution combines panic hardware and escape door locking technology in accordance with EltVTR (German directive on electric locking systems for doors in escape and rescue routes) in a single system. The integrated LED display in the touch bar clearly indicates the status "locked" or "unlocked". In locked status, the door is always secured by the locking points of the panic lock. In the case of the EVP solution, the installation of additional locking elements is likewise unnecessary. The integrated automatic latchbolt ensures that the door is locked at all times. The escape door lock is optimally positioned at the centre of the door. Both escape door packages EVT and EVP are used in

combination with the FTNT escape door control and can be networked via the BKS NET door/bus interface.

The SE lock as the access point – enhancement of the tried-and-tested SE locking system (image 2)The lock itself becomes the the access point within a master key system using the new SE lock. Transponder access authorisation is saved in the lock. This enables the lock with the transponder to be directly controlled – without a detour via a separate wall reader – and the door opened. The electronics, reader and battery are securely integrated into the lock. Convenient operation, a high level of security and simple mounting are all efficiently combined. The design of the hardware can be freely selected. The SE lock can be perfectly combined with other electronic or mechatronic access points, e.g. SE double knob cylinders, within a master key system.

Test winner janus sets standards – for the highest levels of protection and convenienceThe janus brand sets standards when it comes to high-quality reversible key systems. Thanks to the patent term until 2025, the janus locking cylinder is a solution that can be relied on for the long term.

Convenience and protection are guaranteed thanks to the modular cylinder construction, technically advanced reversible key mechanism and the high-level copy protection of dimple keys. In addition, the new janus can also be combined with preexisting mechatronic and electronic SE cylinders, providing a high level of flexibility and a secure future.

The GU house entrance door concept – safety, convenience and flexibility for modern house entrance doors (image 3)The GU house entrance door concept uniquely combines lock, data transmission and door control. The new concept is based on the proven GU-SECURY Automatic multi-point lock, which makes manual locking unnecessary with its automatic latchbolt. The new system renders a power supply unit, control unit, lock control and cable ducts unnecessary because these functions are already integrated into the SECUREconnect200 power and data transmission unit. Instead of wired transitions between door leaves and frames, there are robust tappet contacts that do not limit the opening angle of the door. Biometric fingerprint recognition or the individual entry of an access code via a keyboard enable convenient access at all times.

DOOR ENGINEERING for perfect door solutions – cross-trade advisory service for plannersAs an additional service for planners and architects, the GU Group offers a comprehensive advisory service on all issues concerning door engineering.

The importance of door engineering is often underestimated during overall planning. Architectural, design and organisational guidelines and well as fire protection, security, barrier freedom and appropriate escape route requirements make doors a complex construction element. The "craft of the door" becomes a highly intricate planning task.

The GU project team provides advisory services based on functional models and derives solutions to problems. The solution suggestions take the necessary standards and the conceptions and requirements of the planners into consideration and are documented using clear door configuration lists.

More than just products – new services for shops specialising in securityThe layout card customer profile is expanding the service for the already very successful master key system customer profile and provides specialist retailers with yet another powerful customer retention tool. The card is designed on an individual basis and can be ordered with every master key system customer profile. It is supplied in the desired quantity by BKS for each system and is printed with the system number, system code and master key system type.

Thanks to the new PZ 88 profile cylinder, reading the blade has become a thing of the past. The compact PZ 88 profile cylinder series includes the most common cylinder types in single-key or keyed-alike locking. There is no longer any imprecision as a result of wear when the key is copied mechanically, as every key has its own individual code, considerably simplifying duplicate key business.
