Skylawn Memorial Park Celebrates Opening of Skyview,

its Newest Memorialization Development Incorporating Feng Shui and Custom Estates

(June 18, 2016) Skyview, the newest memorialization development at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, celebrates its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, June 18 at 12 p.m. Highlights of the free celebration include a blessing by Lotus Temple, a lion dance performance, complimentary lunch buffet and consultations by feng shui master, Clarence Lau.

Skyview, located at the highest point of Skylawn Memorial Park, features unspoiled views of the Pacific Ocean, Santa Cruz Mountains and San Francisco Bay. The 24-acre design was created under the watchful eye of a prominent feng shui master and incorporates feng shui principles throughout the development.

Skyview, our most ambitious development project to date, features many wellbeing and feng shui elements that are unlike any other memorial park in California, said Greg Lim, sales manager of Skylawn Memorial Park. Were proud to offer a wide range of options to our customers and have worked hard to ensure that families of all backgrounds and financial means have access to this elegant and tranquil cemetery space.

Skyview offers many different kinds of memorialization options, from custom built-to-suit estates to cremation niches and nearly everything in between. Reflecting the Bay Areas large and diverse Asian-American population, Skylawn tailored several key aspects of the development to meet this communitys specific needs. The development pays homage to the Bay Areas Chinese community by incorporating multiple feng shui design elements into Skyviews spatial orientation and overall design.

Feng Shui Master, Clarence Lau

Skylawn commissioned renowned feng shui master, Clarence Lau, to integrate the principles of prosperity and wellbeing into Skyview. Lau advised Skylawn on how to position Skyviews lotus garden for optimal feng shui, which plays an important role in the afterlife, according to Chinese tradition.

Skylawns natural landscape promotes excellent feng shui by overlooking the ocean and facing the mountains two prime features that encourage the flow of positive energy and harmony. According to Lau, optimizing feng shui for the afterlife is essential to ensuring the success and wellness of future generations. It also plays a vital role in providing an atmosphere of peace for the resting of departed loved ones.

Lau first learned his craft in Hong Kong in the early 1980s before moving to San Francisco a decade later, offering feng shui expertise to customers to bring peace and happiness to their homes and businesses. In 1995, Lau moved to Honolulu where he has incorporated feng shui into peoples lives for nearly two decades. Lau now travels between the Bay Area, Southern California and Hawaii as a full-time feng shui consultant. In addition to his work with Skylawn, Lau has consulted several other Bay Area businesses, including Chapel of the Chimes memorial parks in Hayward and Oakland.
