B. Where to save your filesFIRST THING TO ALWAYS DO
ORGANISE & NAME your files & folders straight away or your project will take twice as long.
Please see Media technician if you need to convert your footage to MP4 (your footage will change to an audio file with a speaker symbol when you put it into Premier)
Footage needs to be saved in TWO LOCATIONS your N-DRIVE and your D-DRIVE.
N-DRIVE
(this is the school’s network – backed up)
D-DRIVE
(on your computer in room 25, ensures machine runs faster as not relying on network)
You will find these on your computer in here
C. How to set up a Premier project1 New project
2 Remember to save Adobe Premier Project file and footage to N-drive
3 Change all of the Scratch disks to D-drive
4 Cancel sequence settings (we will create this later)
5 Select footage from your D-drive ready to import
6 Drag films into here (film specifications are shown at the top)
7 Drag film clip onto ‘Sequence symbol’ this automatically matches film and sequence settings
8 Film is on the time line, sequence is set up

Transitions and effects will need rendering
A RED BAR will show when this needs to happen
REMEMBER TO KEEP ON TOP OF YOUR RENDERING!

GREEN BAR shows rendering is completed
VIDEO EFFECTS are in EFFECTS tab (eg Black & White)
Drag and drop like with transitions
More VIDEO EFFECTS…(eg Brightness & contrast)
Editing these effects can be found in the EFFECT CONTROLS tab
Putting TEXT and TITLES into your footage
Select NEW TTILE in TITLES tab
You can change the size, style, colour and position of text
Click on the CROSS IN THE CORNER when finished

You need to drop your title into the TIMELINE, like a film clip
