About This Document This User Manual is a guide to the users of Raj Panchayat, Government of Rajasthan. It describes details of the various features available in Content Management System. It is assumed that the User of the present system has Hands-On experience of Basic Computer, Internet Usage and also has conceptual understanding about the working of this system.

Introduction & General GuidelinesThis manual is intended to serve as a Reference Guide on implementation of Content Management System in Raj Panchayat, Government of Rajasthan. The Content Management is an integrated software application that related with information technology (IT) services.

Content Management System is a systematic approach to manage Contents which includes necessary operation like adding an article or category or changing some contents on the website using user friendly environment.

Various facilities given by system described in subsections below:

1.1. Module Manager System allow user to edit the existing settings of the modules. System allow user to define new module as per the requirement of the types. Allow to defining new positions and ordering. Allow to define new languages to the modules. Allow to define and provide rights to users.

1.2. Pages System allows user to add new page to the portal. System also allows the user copy pages. System allows the user to import the page from the other portals.

Working with Content Management SystemThis module enables Raj Panchayat, Government of Rajasthan to manage the Content Management Process for the web portal.

2.1. Page Management

2.1.1.Adding Page

The above interface show the link to Add a New Page .

As soon as you will click on the “Add New Page” link you will be redirected to the following link:

The above interface is used to edit information and details of the new page item.

STEPS TO FOLLOW:

1. Select the Pages item type and click on Add New Page. 2. Enter the page Name and other Required Fields.3. Enter Basic options, Click On Add Page BUTTON.

2.2. Extensions

2.2.1. Accordion

The above interface shows the Extension used for the Accordion Menu.

STEPS TO FOLLOW:

1. Select Module Options from the Control Panel.2. Select AccordionTabs Extension Type from the List.3. Check and edit the other settings.

Once all the changes are defined by user, Click on UPDATE BUTTON.

2.2.2.Announcements

The above interface shows the Extension for the Announcements.

NOTE: This is the internal component used to Upload and manage all types of Announcements. Currently the Announcements Module is used to display the Latest News Marquee, PR in Press and Mid Day Meal Modules. To add a new Announcement Module Click on the Modules -> Add New Module -> and then select the Announcement Module defining the proper position.

To add new Announcement to the existing Module select edit this page, hover on the pencil icon and click on Add New announcement.

2.2.3.Content Slider

The above shown manager is used as a slider to display images.

STEPS TO FOLLOW :

1. Choose the image file.

2. Set the other required properties.

3. Click on upload/install.

From the above shown manager one can manage the available images. These can be edited or deleted by selecting the item and clicking on the respective button.

2.2.4.DDR Menu

The below interface shows the Extension used to display the Menu items.

NOTE:

1. To add new Navigation Bar click on the Modules -> Add New Module -> DDRMenu.

2. Select the position where you want to publish the new menu.

3. The menu menu bar will be published at the specified position with the edit control bar.

4. Set the Properties by clicking on the settings panel and then menu properties. Set the type of the menu and the ID’s of the menu items that are to be included or excluded.

5. Click on the update button.

The above interface is used show the list of properties that are to be defined to the menu module in the system

2.2.5.File Manager

The above interface shows the panel used to manage the files available into the system.

NOTE:

This panel is used to add new files or folders or delete files or folders. This panel shows the hierarchical view of the files and folders arranged.

2.2.6.HTML

The above interface shows the HTML Module used in the extensions.

The HTML Module is used for the adding the HTML contents to the web portal. To add the module click on the Modules -> Add new Module -> and then select HTML with the proper position where to be added. Then click on the edit button to add the text or HTML content.

The above interface shows Visitors Counter.

NOTE: There are various styles available for displaying the counter. If user wishes to redefine new styles into the existing System Click on the link make changes and save the module..

2.2.8.Language Manager

The above interface is used to add new content language to the site. This is used only when the site is made multilingual.

To add new language click on the Admin -> Languages -> click on Add New Language tab.

2.2.9.Yet Another Gallery

The below interface is used to add image gallery to the site. This is used for displaying the multiple images to the site.

Here we can add new Gallery to the site or add or delete the images to the existing gallery to the site.

Getting Started

3.1. Log on to Content Management System

To Log into system every user need to follow steps below1. Open the web portal on any browser and click on the login link, located on the right of

the header.

As soon as you click on login you will be redirected to the screen as shown below.

3.2. Home PageThe home page of the Raj Panchayat Web Portal includes Logo with Header Banner, Main Navigation, Horizontal Marquee, Search box, Ministers HTML Block, Welcome box, Photo Gallery slider, Accordion, News Marquee and Footer.

Now we will look at the step by step procedure to edit this page.

Note: In order to edit the logo or the header banner you need to contact the System Administrator. In Case of main navigation as soon as you add new page it will automatically be added to the navigation.

3.2.1. Horizontal Marquee

In order to edit the horizontal marquee, click on the “Edit Page -> Edit This Page” link.

Now you will see the module name as “Announcements”.

Click on the pencil icon to Add new Announcement or on the Settings icon to edit the Announcements.

3.2.2. Search Box

In order to edit the settings of this search box, click on the “Edit Page -> Edit This Page” link and then on the Settings button as shown in the figure.

3.2.3. Minister’s HTML Block

In order to edit this block, click on the “Edit Page -> Edit This Page” link and then click on the Pencil icon as shown in the figure below.

As soon as you click on this icon you will be redirected to this page.

Follow these steps for the other two blocks of ministers as well as for the Welcome Message block, Capacity Building, Tenders, Downloads, Gallery, E-Samadhan Links.

3.2.4. Photo Gallery Slider

In order to edit this slider, click on the “Edit Page -> Edit This Page” link and then click on the Pencil icon as shown in the figure below.

If you wanna add new image to the slider select “Add Slider”.

If you wanna edit the current slider images select “Manage Sliders”.

If you wanna edit the properties of the slider select “Slider Options”.

3.2.5. Important Links Accordion

In order to edit the Important Link Accordion, click on the “Edit Page -> Edit This Page” link and you will be redirected to the page as shown in the figure below.

If you wanna manage the existing Accordion click on the Pencil icon and click on “Manage Tabs”. Here we can modify as well as add a new tab. The screen below shows the Manage Tabs screen.

If you wanna edit the properties of the Accordion Module click on the “Settings” icon and then “Settings for The Accordion Tabs Module”. You will be redirected to the screen as follows.

3.2.6. News Marquee

In order to edit the Latest News Marquee, click on the “Edit Page -> Edit This Page” link and you will be redirected to the page as shown in the figure below.

In order to add new announcement to the module, click on the pencil icon and then “Add New Anouncement”.

As soon as you click on “Add New Announcement” you will be redirected to the screen as shown below. Add all the important information and save the changes.

If you want to edit the settings of the Announcement Module click on the Settings tab and then make the necessary changes and save.

Follow the above steps for the News And Events Marquee, PR in Press and Mid Day Meal modules.

3.2.7. Footer

In order to edit the Footer of the web portal, click on the “Edit Page -> Edit This Page” link and you will be redirected to the page as shown in the figure below.

The footer includes three parts:

1. Visitors Counter2. Footer-Upper3. Footer-Lower

In order to edit the visitors counter click on the pencil icon and then Edit Counter option. You will be redirected to the screen as shown below.

Make the changes as per your requirement and click on Update to save the changes.

In order to edit the Footer -Upper click on the pencil icon and then Edit HTML Module. You will be redirected to the screen as shown below.

Make the changes and Click on the Update button to save the changes.

In order to edit the Footer -Upper click on the pencil icon and then Edit HTML Module. You will be redirected to the screen as shown below.

Make the necessary changes as per your requirement and then click on the Update button to save the changes.

3.3. Adding Customized Template Customized Templates are added to the HTML modules. When we hover on the

settings icon we get an option of the Import Content.

As soon as we click on the import content we get the popup window asking for the path of the template. Select “Custom Templates” in the folder option and then the respective file from the dropdown list of the file options.

In order to edit the Document Libraries of the web portal, click on the “Edit Page -> Edit This Page” link and you will be redirected to the page as shown in the figure below.

Now click on the pencil icon and then “Add New Document” to add new documents to the Module. You will be redirected to the screen as shown below. Enter the details of important fields and click on the update button to save the changes.

In order to Edit Documents Module, click on the settings link and you will be redirected to the screen as shown below.

Make the necessary changes and save them by clicking on the update button.

3.5. Adding Content To Inner Pages

In order to add or edit content to such inner pages, click on the “Edit Page -> Edit This Page” link and you will be redirected to the page as shown in the figure below.

Click on the Pencil icon and then “Edit Content”. As soon as you do this, you will be redirected to the page as shown below. Make the important changes as per the requirement and then click on the Update button to save the changes.
