BIOGRAPHY OF JOSEPH WENDT Celebrating 20 Years
For Joseph Wendt, the themes of quality, craftsmanship and highest level of personal service have become woven into his career as a highly sought after designer and custom clothier. “I feel a passion for this business. I love serving people and making them look great,” he said. Joseph’s flair for doing things with passion and perfection became apparent more than 20 years ago when he began his career in Huntington, Long Island in the men’s wardrobe business. His scope of experience includes providing fittings, styling, consulting, design and sales for an array of companies in New York as well as working for David Rickey and Company in Newport Beach, California where he was a top sales producer traveling nationally servicing clients custom clothing needs.
In 1994, Joseph established Joseph’s Custom Clothiers in New York where he designs and provides custom wardrobes for men in their home, office, or club around the country. “Although I am not a traditional designer, you could say I’ve earned a double PhD in the clothing profession,” the designer stated. “From the very beginning, I have always been interested in quality and attention to detail of the garment, as well as, the client’s psychology. Paying close attention to a man’s stature, personality and lifestyle are key to creating a unique and distinguished look befitting the individual,” he said. “I create a look for my clients from head to toe. I want a man to feel confident and command attention when he walks in a room,” Joseph said. “And whether it’s his fine sport jacket, custom suit or formalwear, I’ve done my job when my client is the best dressed man every single time he goes out,” he said. Joseph says his designs are Italian influenced with their impeccable style and utmost quality, everything from the finest fabrics and double stitching down to the craftsmanship of the buttons and zippers.
Joseph has been to Italy at least 30 times. He says he loves anything Italian-‐ including the food, wine and art of the Renaissance era. He enjoys collecting Italian wines especially vintages 1990 and beyond. Joseph is also a fan of World Cup Soccer. He frequently goes on buying trips throughout Europe and says he uses only the best cloth from the finest mills in the world including Loro Piana and Zegna in Italy and Dormieul in France. All tailoring is done in New York. The production of a custom suit is typically six weeks involving the efforts of 40 people. “I along with our tailors work tirelessly to assure our clients they receive nothing but perfection in their garment,” he said. With all this dedication and hard work, Joseph has built an impressive portfolio of clients who trust him with their wardrobe needs. The list includes professional sports figures, business magnates and national anchor people who call him “Joey”. His recent business endeavors include bringing a piece of Europe to Southwest Florida with a new Naples location on 5th Avenue. He also will be introducing a collection of men’s shooting clothes including vests, jackets, shirts and pants inspired by a recent Wing-‐Shooting trip at a private estate in England. Joseph lives in Naples full-‐time with his wife Valerie, their two-‐year-‐old daughter Gianna and newborn son, Paul. Joseph’s 16-‐year-‐old son lives in New York.

NAPLES, Fla. – Joseph Wendt Custom Clothiers is proud to announce a partnership with the American Heart Association’s Red Tie Society, a men’s group that advocates for women’s heart health. The Red Tie Society is a dynamic, dedicated and passionate group of men who have the resources to significantly impact the community by providing a personal commitment to help find a cure for heart disease, the No. 1 killer of women.
Joseph Wendt Custom Clothiers will provide limited edition red ties to The Red Tie Society of Southwest Florida as part of their efforts to bring attention to the important issue of heart disease in women. Joseph Wendt is the primary provider of ties for the Society. The ties act as a symbol of membership for the members to wear as they take part in the Society’s events, as well as in networking and educational events that the Society is invited to, such as the annual Southwest Florida Go Red For Women Luncheon, which will be held on Friday, Apr. 5, at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, Fla.
The ties, which are a distinct shade of crimson, are symbolic of their wearer’s support of the mission of the American Heart Association.

designer for the Kentucky Derby

Moore Millinery, a top tier design house located in the center of New York City’s fashion district. JOSEPH WENDT IN THE COMMUNITY NAPLES, Fla. – Since opening his first store in Naples, Fla., Joseph Wendt has donated more than $150,000 to local charities in Southwest Florida. In January of 2014, Joseph Wendt Custom Clothiers helped raise $90,000 for children’s charities as part of the Naples Children & Education Winter Wine Festival. JWCC donated a $10,000 credit for custom clothes as part of a lot of high quality wines and a VIP journey to Cyprus and Napa Valley, Calif.
The Celebrity Martini Glass Auction, a one-‐of-‐a-‐kind philanthropic experience. Twenty-‐five martini glasses are autographed by A-‐list celebrities and auctioned off, some for as much as $5,000. Joseph Wendt is proud to be the official glass sponsor of CMGA. Money raised at the Celebrity Martini Glass Auction goes to support Honor Flight, PAWS Assistance Dogs and the Naples International Film Festival. After the Naples YMCA burned down in September of 2013, Joseph Wendt held an open house at his Fifth Avenue store with raffle tickets and prizes related to the store. The event raised $2,500 for the YMCA. Wendt is always willing to help the community by donating auction items at various fundraisers around Naples. From the David Lawrence Center to the Immokalee Foundation, Golisano Children’s Hospital and the Golisano Children’s Museum, just to name a few. In February 2013 JWCC launched an annual signature event, “Suited for Success,” a program designed to collect gently worn suits and professional menswear that will be donated back to various local charities, including The Immokalee Foundation.
