We witnessed a strong end to 2014, and

consistent economic expansion, job growth,

and a steady increase in home prices are all

indicators that good things are to come.

Over the past three years, home prices have

cumulatively increased over 25% and experts are

predicting another 5% this year. These increases,

in combination with the Gross Domestic Product

(GDP) over 4%, heighten consumer confi dence

in the market and gives present homeowners

the ability to upgrade to a new home using

the equity buildup in their current home as a

down payment. And with mortgage rates at a

20-month low, there is no better time to start

house hunting.

First-time home buyers are expected to

progressively return to the market with

continued job stability and the resurrection

of wage growth. With more money in their

pockets, due to falling gas prices and higher

household income, prospective buyers have the

opportunity to save more for a down payment.

Attractive new mortgage products and rents at

a seven-year high will also make homeownership

a more appealing and a� ordable option.

Only time will reveal what 2015 has in store for

the housing market, but experts are forecasting

a positive year for growth. The return of the

fi rst-time buyer to the market will spark a chain

reaction giving homeowners the ability to trade

in their current homes for their 2nd or 3rd home.
