“PASTOR PAUL’S PARAGRAPHS”
Dear Members and Friends of the Sweetwater Baptist Church:
Blessings!! I am still rejoicing over the incredible Wild Game Supper that we had at Sweetwater on
March 8th. It was awesome!! There were over 1,600 people in attendance and over 200 decisions for Christ.
Praise the Lord!! I want to express my sincere appreciation to every volunteer and worker who made the
Wild Game Supper a complete success. Thank you for your hard work and “labor of love!” A special
“thanks” goes out to Brian Ayers for coordinating the event. We are all truly grateful for your dedication and
hard work!
April is going to be a special month. There are several important events that will be taking place at
Sweetwater. On Sunday evening, April 13th, we will be showing Billy Graham’s special message entitled,
“The Cross,” followed by the observance of the Lord’s Supper. This will be an evening of reflection and
meditation of the meaning of the death of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We will celebrate Easter on April 20th. Our Sunrise Service will be at 6:45am followed by a light
breakfast. Sunday School will begin at 9:15am and our morning worship service will be at 10:30am. We are
also designating this meaningful day as “VICTORY SUNDAY!” Our goal is high attendance in Sunday
School and worship. We are also encouraging everyone to bring an additional offering for our new sanctuary
and educational facility. It is going to be an exciting day of worship and celebration!
As you know, our leadership has been working on revising our Constitution and By-laws. Our new
document is ready and is available in the Information Center. The schedule for considering the proposed
Constitution and By-Laws is as follows:
-Wednesday evening, April 23rd – Discussion of Proposed Document
-Sunday morning, May 4th – Church-wide vote on Constitution without discussion
Please, pray about this important process and formulate your questions for April 23rd.
Our Spring Revival will be during the dates of April 27 – 30. Rev. David Blizzard will be our guest
evangelist. He is the pastor of the Oakdale Baptist Church in Townville, South Carolina. He is also the neph-
ew of Brother Leonard Garvin. Please, be much in prayer for this important week of renewal and rejuvena-
tion. All Sunday School classes are encouraged to plan a cottage prayer meeting before the revival to prepare
for this important event.
As you celebrate and reflect on the Easter message, remember the words of the angel to Mary and Mary
Magdalene when they visited the Garden Tomb, “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the
place where the Lord lay.” (Matthew 28:6)
It is going to be a great Spring at Sweetwater! Thank you for the privilege of serving you!
With a Pastor’s Love,
Brother Paul

April Memory Verse
“He is not here, for He has risen, as He said.” Matthew 28:6a ESV
This month we will celebrate Easter. The memory verse for April
is the perfect opportunity for you to talk with your child about
the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Teach them
understand the importance of Easter to us as Christians and how
it shows the amazing love our God has for us!
