Mayor’s Message
Welcome to CityVibe 2017, your guide to events and activities happening around our beautiful city. I want to begin by acknowledging that 2017 is a Year of Reconciliation in the City of Victoria and to encourage you to explore, in particular, events that exhibit and celebrate local First Nations culture.
We are fortunate to live in such a dynamic and creative community. The City of Victoria is committed to fostering arts and culture, and many of the events listed in this guide have been supported through our Festival Investment Grants. A creative city is a healthy city, and we know that investment has a tremendous payoff in the vitality of our community.
Whether you are looking for information on one of Victoria’s many festivals, free outdoor performances at Beacon Hill Park or Centennial Square, or one of our many community markets, I trust you will find CityVibe a helpful guide to navigating what’s happening around the city this year. With many returning favourites along with some new offerings, there is something for everyone inside these pages. I hope you will enjoy and share in some of the events that make our city so wonderful and unique!
